He lectures for most of the class, but prefers when the class has discussions over lecturing. Gives the outline of when things will be due from the start. Very nice guy, would recommend as a professor.

The class is relies a lot on discussion of everyone, so if the class is willing to participate it's a lot of fun. He is very accessible out side of class, and willing to help on the papers written for the course. It was a very fun class!

Comment:
Reviews that I read were so misleading. Grading is very inconsistent. He gives pop quizzes over 30 page chapters pretty often. Lectures the whole time, but not about anything in the book. Gives a take home midterm and final, but he grades them so tough that it doesn't matter. Also have 2 book reviews which aren't good either. Would not take him

He is a very nice guy, but his class is nothing like I expected. He gives quizzes over the reading, which is usually 30 pages to read, every week. He lectures the entire class time but his notes are not beneficial to his quizzes. He gives a take home midterm and final, as well as two book reviews, but his grading is very inconsistent.

He will always try to help you and make sure you're doing okay. He gets the grades back to you quick. He gives you a quiz every week and there were four papers due including the midterm and final exam. He is funny and amazing. I would definitely take his class over again!

he is a goofy guy and amusing to listen to. only problem is he dropped half the class assignments so my grade is based off 2 papers...which was pretty stressful

Online class has little to do with history and more to do with writing book reports and movie analysis. Grading is easy.

I have him in a night class, and though it makes you fall asleep, he doesn't care if you bring your laptop and work on other things. His tests are easy and take home and his papers were equally as easy. He also says he takes attendance but still hasn't and the semesters almost over.

I got an A on two book reports in African History for books that I never even read. No complaining, but he told me I have a nice rear after lecture one day, which made me uncomfortable in his class. The class is an easy A, though.

One of the nicest professors at Ashland University. Pushes back due dates for papers allll the time. Very understanding. easy grader if you put effort in your papers. Very liberal but a change can be refreshing. Do the readings!

The class is difficult until you learn his teaching style. He loves opinions in papers but quizes you just have to repeat everything he said during class. He's a funny guy and likes to joke around with studnets. Don't take anything he says offensively because he doesn't mean it to be.

Jamieson is very funny and he has a laid back discussionary style of teaching. His grading is relatively easy, and he has the philosophy that if a student wants to learn he/she will attend class and therefore he doesn't have an attendance policy.

Very smart. Pretty funny if you actually listen to him. Chapter a week of reading with a quiz. 2 book reports, a midterm and a final paper which were all take home. Pretty easy if you just give your opinion instead of just repeating what he says in class. Lecture is extremely boring though and can drag on forever. Never lets you out early.

He definately knows what he is talking about, but his class is extremely boring. You read a chapter a week and take a quiz on it every week. You write two papers which are simple and you have take home exams. Take him if you don't mind reading and sitting in a boring class!
