Comment:

I believe Erica Nol is a good professor, just not for intro biology. Lectures were extremely dry and very difficult to interpret. She gave no indication of what we could expect from her midterm and final exams. Fortunately they were not terribly difficult.

She s very knowledgeable, and super kind when you go to her outside of class. I did a honors project with her and it was a great opportunity to learn so much. she is always ready to help you and is never annoyed by people asking questions that aren't stupid. beware asking question to her just for the sake of asking questions to try and stand out

Dr. Nol was a good professor when I had her for Biology last year. Her bird studies are amazing and she has a strong biology passion. Overall, she is a great individual and a good lecturer.

Dr. Nol was a disappointment for the Ornithology course. She seemed to rush through lectures, leave immediately after and had next to zero office hours. She was quick to dismiss Socratic discussion in the labs and did not attend the main field trip for bird identification. Very knowledgeable but lacks enthusiasm.

Dr. Nol is an amazing individual. She is so intelligent but is not intimidating (a very rare combo). She is passionate about avian conservation and inspired me to pursue a future in this field. Hands down the best professor I ever had. She is an amazing individual all in all! If you take this class, get to know her because she is great!!

Comment:

Took population genetics and evolution with her, ecology. An obvious genious, very helpful. Even let me borrow one of her personal texts for background reading! Knew my name, which made all the difference to an undergrad.

Kind of odd and very disorganised, including losing an assignment. Somewhat forgetful at times. Nice thought and very knowledgable...obviosuly loves her research and the topic of ornithology.

Ugh. My worst professor ever. Would it kill her to actually TEACH once and a while?! She seems to hate teaching this class, and gets out of it as much as possible by teaching 1/2 an hour a week, then making us learn everything else through reading or by "teaching each other".

She is a bird, and she has her clutch. She's a bit weird, but very nice. She wants everyone to be fascinated by birds, and some of us just aren't. But I'll always remember her, and generally in a good way. :)
