The class is pretty easy. Any downtime is usually filled with fun facts or funny stories. Some of the movies aren't too good, but it's interesting. Be prepared to read quite a bit but the tests are easy. I recommend it.

The tests aren't that hard, but it is sooo boring. His jokes aren't funny. He is absolutely impossible to communicate with. I had a problem with a test and when the TA wouldn't respond, I emailed him. When he wouldn't respond, I emailed the department. Then, of course, he finally responded and wondered why I'd waited so late to question the problem

He is hilarious and doesnt mean to be most of the time all the exams are posted online from the semester before and are almost identical to the current ones he will give, if you study those the class is an easy A. You can leave after you sign roll. I helps to stay for the movies but you can always look the plot up online for the tests

Do not take this class. It is a night class... 3hours long.. 3 boring hours.. you have to take a lot of notes and watch all these old films. I actually liked the films but I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone.

He's a great teacher and very funny. The class is slightly challenging but you can leave at any time after you sign the roll so it's not bad at all.

Overall it was a good class. It did get tough at times, though, and the material was mostly memorization. Unless you're really interested in film I would find another fine art. As far as the professor goes, it was great. He was funny and intelligent, and he rarely was lost or disorganized.

Interesting guy to say the least. He can be funny from time to time, and he's knowledgeable about the subject. But I don't think he cares or knows what he's doing in regards to this class. It's not that hard (although it can be for some), but the information he tests us on is obscure and irrelevant. I do not recommend taking this class.

Read the book. Watch the movies. Look at the old tests. The tests are relatively tricky but he seems to curve the grade. It's not as easy of an A as it may seem but its definitely doable without too much stress. Most people either ace this class or fail it.

He himself is not a bad guy but his this class it TERRIBLE. By far it is the single worst class I have ever taken. It's not like he's strict or mean or anything. He's very nice, but it's the class. The tests did not seem to come from ANY of the notes, book, or old exams posted online. It is a long, boring class. By far the worst class at this schoo

NOT what I was excpecting AT ALL! It's easy if you read all the notes and pay attention in class, I didn't have to read the book at all, and made A+ on all my tests. But I did read the extra notes he posts online. Some movies are really.....strange but interesting. I wouldn't take this class again.

Bad class. It's an interesting subject, yet somehow he manages to make it incredibly boring and tedious. It's a lot of reading, and a lot of questions from the incredibly boring reading. Don't take this class; it's not worth the pain.

He's a really funny guy who likes to crack a lot of jokes, but I signed up for the class thinking it would be easy, and its not necessarily hard, but it requires a lotttt of reading, & the movies are all foreign, & made in like the 1930's... maybe 1 movie you'll actually enjoy but its not likely...its just not what i expected

DON"T TAKE THIS CLASS! Hardest art credit at UA. I read all the text was at every class and couldn't get an A or B on the test. He puts old tests online but they are nothing like the tests he gives in class. He thinks he is hilarious but he isn't!!

Awesome professor. He's hilarious and make a long class manageable. Also the movies you watch are pretty interesting. Easy A, just read a little from the book and look at the previous tests he puts online.

One of the best professors at UA. He is always cracking jokes and that makes the slightly boring 3 hour class manageable.
