Had her for my U.S Feminisms class and she's a gem! Very sweet, caring and compassionate. The content for this class was really interesting and I appreciate her stressing intersectionality! The lectures are really interesting and we've read a lot of inspirational feminist writers!

Comment:

One of the best profs at DePaul. She is so organized, sweet, and I learned SO much. As long as you put in some effort and do the work, you'll do great. Gives really helpful feedback also. Readings were pretty quick and easy, the class discussions help clear up confusion. Also the books are cheap. 10/10 recommend!!!!

She's a total pro. Very organized and class runs like a well-oiled machine. Uses contract grading so you are encouraged to take risks and really develop your ideas as writer. Loved her.

The Professor is a very nice person and loves when everyone gives feedback and comments during class, that said she is a tough grader but gives details feedback and does workshops to better your paper, use her office hours.

Professor MacKenna was a good teacher, but her lectures were pretty boring. She made us get a subscription to the New York Times and it was pretty pointless. Overall she really cares about her students though and is really accessible to her students. Good teacher, just boring lectures.

If you're looking for a laid back online class do not take her. She adds way more than is necessary and is a super hard grader. I am English major and even I had a hard time getting good grades on papers and even discussion posts. She wants things a very specific way and if you miss even one small detail she takes a lot off your grade.

Professor MacKenna is amazing! She has you read the NYT articles that classmates select every week and you have essays that will go into a portfolio but the essays are easy to write and she's a great help! She gives great feedback and if you need help with grammar she will give you exercises to do to help you

Erin was okay. She's clearly very knowledgeable about the subject she teaches. I found her grading style to be a bit condescending in that she would correct piddly things rather than focusing on bigger content questions. She doesn't seem to "push" students in class though so I think that lively conversations can sometimes be an issue.

Professor MacKenna was my favorite professor during my first quarter at DePaul. She was engaging and funny and really helpful. The class itself was pretty straight forward but not extremely easy. She really knows what she's talking about and is very knowledgable. I would definitely take a class of hers again.

Everyone loves Professor MacKenna!!! She is a wonderful teacher who always is willing to help and clarify assignments. She isn't a boring teacher either that will put you to sleep while talking about the NYT during class and is really funny too. She gave us candy on halloween... soo.... take her.

Professor MacKenna is easily the most laid back and helpful teacher I've ever had. She helped me write all my papers, and would help whenever needed. Her class was actually kinda fun, as well. Also, she's extremely hot.

Professor MacKenna was a awesome teacher. her classes went by very fast and she always let us out early if we were finished. TAKE HER FOR 103 or anything. she talks about politics which is also interesting. I sat on my laptop the whole time which is probably why I got a B, eventhough I deserved an A

Attendance is very important in her classes. She is a great professor and is always willing to meet outside of class if you have any questions, especially when we had to do our research papers. She's very friendly, and her classes aren't easy but if you do the work and ask questions, you'll be fine.

She is a challenging teacher, and her class is by no means easy. She was always available and very willing to help you out and clarify assignments or just explain course materials to you. She seems to really care about her students and her courses. At times she can be a little intimidating.Discussion is really important.
