Comment:
I was so lucky to have him for PY105. Literally the best out of the professors available for this class. He does live demonstrations and works with the class. He works out the derivations of the concepts on the board so you understand completely. He's also really quirky in a nerdy way but it makes class so much better. Take him!

He is extremely helpful. It's a very good professor. The class will require you to spend at least 10 hours a week studying so be careful with your semester load!

He is AWESOME and smart! People think the stuff is hard, but if u like physics and like thinking, it is a fun course. He creates homework problems sometimes and they are fun to think about! Though he sets up office hours, you can just go to his office whenever. He is willing to talk to students and gives u another ways to think of a problem!

Very hard material and he has to go fast to cover it all. However, he does as good of a job as anyone in teaching it and you do learn a lot from the class. Tests and homework are difficult (the average for the final was a 56). But he curves everything so it doesn't really matter.

Pretty insane class, but Schmaltz does about the best job teaching it as anyone could. Demanding, but you'll learn a lot.

Yeah he's a good teacher but his test questions are vague and poorly worded and usually only tangentially related to anything studied.

Prof. Schmartz is the best physics teacher i have so far. He covers the material in great details with clarity. The subject is hard, no doubt about that, but with his help in lecture, the material seems a little bit easier and clearer than the others.

Professor Schmaltz (or Martin as he asks us to call him) is an awesome teacher. Not only does he make sense during lecture, but he, for the most part, is able to keep your attention. He is by far the best PY 212 professor there is at BU.
