If you can avoid this professor, do so. I'm sure he was once very well-respected, but speaking without hyperbole, he has a medical condition that severely affects his brain. It makes him unfit to teach, and I think the only reason that he is still there is that he has tenure. If you sincerely want a good teacher, avoid at all costs.

If you are transferring to a university take her class, she is intelligent, objective & reasonable, she will bring out your resilience & intellect. If you just need geneds, skip her because her syllabus is hard to understand or follow. If she would add online lectures of herself, that would be great. Her blackboard has nothing but bare bones.

Best professor I've had yet! I had Professor Raepple for Ethics (PHILO-1110) Although her class is difficult, Professor Raepple offers help outside of class and a lot of extra credit. I recommend getting the book because the quizzes are difficult without it. Overall, great class I would definitely recommend this class to a friend!

She is a horrible teahcer, she doesn't explain her expectations of what she wants from you for projects. she just expectes you to figure it out on your own. I highly suggest you don't take her at all for anything. I took her last semester for Ethics Philosophy. and She is a very difficult grader.

Dr. Raepple taught my environmental ethics class. Naturally, as a philosopher, she is very open minded & eager to hear students' feedback about readings. She encourages any type of discussion & will not be offended by anyone's opinion/stance on an issue. We had only one semester long project. The grade you get will reflect the effort put into it!

Professor Raepple is super caring, and wants the best for her students. Class is based off of group discussions on the readings, no written tests. Just a paper. Make sure you do the readings so you can discuss in class. She keeps it interesting and challenges statements made. She looks like Angelina Jolie and her German accent is so relaxing .

Definitely was nervous for this class and my grade after attending the first few weeks. There is a quiz worth 50 points at the very beginning. Almost every student failed. She offered a lot of extra credit opportunities at the end which saved me. It took me a while to adjust to her and her teaching methods but overall I really ended up liking it.

Definitely recommend taking a course with her, she won't disappoint. She reminds her students of the exploration of the global ethical context that is required in one's own development of personal philosophy.

Dr. Raepple was one of my favorite professors at COD. She definitely knows and cares a lot about philosophy, and she tries to get her students to understand and care about it as well. Debates and discussions were always fun and interesting. I learned a lot in the class and gained a deep love of philosophy. Fair grader, clear explanations, nice.

I took it online. Quizzes are very difficult in this course. Blackboard marks questions wrong that shouldn't be marked wrong. Questions on quizzes are fill in the blank. A decent grade is manageable if you put in good work on the Final Paper. The course material is interesting and I highly recommend this course.

I was less than impressed with Raepple's teaching methods- she tends to go off on a tangent and talk about things for an entire lecture that has nothing to do with the quiz we'll have to take. She doesn't explain things well and often laughs at students questions. Would only recommend this class for excellent readers.

Thought she was a terrible teacher. She is hard to understand with her accent. Terrible at answering students questions, she gets off topic. I was confused and frustrated throughout the entire course because her assignment expectations were very vague.

I had her for honors intro to philosophy. Class is held in a dialectic fashion: desks arranged to form a circle, facilitating creative discussion under her guidance, making for a competitive, exciting & constructive learning environment. Often stays after class to assist interested or struggling pupils & goes out of her way to ensure their success.

Overall she is a horrible teacher. She thinks that she is better than anyone else and will tell you to your face. She has a habit of interrupting students from speaking and her accent is hard to understand. Overall a bad teacher and a bad class.

I would not recommend this teacher. Here is why. Though she is very easy going and grades the mid-term and final papers easy, you don't learn from this teacher. Expect a lot of class discussions, quizzes on Bb every other week that are based on reading. Those quizzes are hard so make sure to do extra-credit.

Ms Raepple was one of my favorite teachers. Her class in easy to get a good grade in. She does however seem a bit disconnected in her reasoning. often jumping from topic to topic. lots of EC! I bombed almost all quizzes and still received an A because of Extra credit. No tests. sweet lady but get stepped on by students. no control

She's nice enough, but extremely vague in her directions, a very tough grader, an absurd amount of reading for the class. Though she goes through the readings, its basically a teach-yourself class. And her accent isn't british, its German, really hard to understand sometimes. One of the most frustrating classes i've ever taken.
