Truly inspires students to question the whole system, believes racism is defining characteristic of our culture and police. She encouraged violent protests and looting when she spoke fondly of previous LA riots. I personally know several of her students who did riot partly From her inspiration. The group work refers to the group tactics of looting

This professor is not easy. You have to do the work and case briefs every week. She explains how she wants the case briefs so not bad. She does teach you but she rolls eyes and makes you feel like you cant ask questions. She makes you feel dumb. She is prejudice to every race but her own. Just check out her twitter. Not an easy A.

Professor Browne-Marshall is excellent! Class consisted of a midterm, and final, a few casebriefs, and a class presentation at the end of the semester. She will thoroughly prepare you for the exams, and guide you on the case briefs. She is there for you, and wants you to succeed! Overall, a great Professor, and a great class! Definitely take her!

Both midterm and final exam are open book and notes and don't be late to class. You're have to submit a 8 to 10 page research paper in the end of the semester anything that involve in race & law. Easy A+

Professor Gloria Browne Marshall is a very interesting professor. I had to retake this course and it was such a huge difference. She really wants her students to understand and think about the Constitution. A few case briefs, midterm, group presentation on a case, and final. She reviews for the midterm and final. Extra credit is offered as well.

She is by far one of the best professors I've taken at John Jay. There are two exams, a few casebriefs, and one group presentation. There is an opportunity for extra credit, and one make-up casebrief. She's very straight forward in what she wants, and will make sure you earn the grade you deserve. Don't expect to just show up and get an easy A.

Get ready to read and study your notes everyday cause that's what it takes to pass. Textbook is about $100 (mandatory!!!) There's a midterm, final, few case briefs and group presentation. She is a very passionate and a sweet woman but she does make you work for your grade. She really got me interested in the constitution a lot more than expected.

GET READY TO READ WITH THIS PROF, SHE REALLY THINKS YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CLASSES. SHE WILL GIVE YOU 22 PAGES TO READ FOR THE NEXT CLASS. CLASS BRIEF EVERYTIME, SHE GIVES A EXTRA CREDIT. THE BOOK IS A MUST, I AM A "A" STUDENT AND I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING DRAGGED TO THIS CLASS. HER PERSONALITY IS GOOD BUT SHE DOESN'T MAKE THE CLASS FUN.

She's clear on her grading criteria. She'll give extra credit opportunities, so take advantage of it. She takes attendance randomly from time to time. Be respectful, don't interrupt, and listen before you speak. Her class really makes you think about the current criminal justice system. I highly recommend this professor. She's also hilarious!

She gives a midterm, 7 page paper, presentation and a final. The midterm and final are both open notes and open book. You need the book as she gives readings on it and She assigns pages to each person makes you state what you learned or found interesting. She's a civil rights attorney, very respected person. I'd take another class with her again.

Great professor! Funny! Snarky when students are late or rude. She wrote the textbook, and you need it for class. She takes attendance randomly, but you need to be there to fully understand material. There are short briefs of court cases due once per week, mid-term, and final. No paper. Extra credit for both tests offered. Tests are not too hard.

She really wants her students to learn. Wants you to read and assigns small sections in the chapters for each student, be ready to discuss. Her midterm and final are super easy (open book) She is hilarious so don't be so uptight 5 minute presentation and 6 page paper on topic of your choice. Very smart professor and eager for everyone to be aware.

Prof. Browne-Marshall was great overall. She is hilarious but speaks truth concerning social issues. We had to read a book, a midterm, final, paper presentation and an essay. If you do the reading and pay attention you'll do well.

One of the tougher graders out but willing to help you if you go up to her, just do not act childish as this is a capstone course. The class got overall bad grades on exams but she is willing to give extra-credit for the slack of the class. She does inform you very thoroughly on the subject.

Shes easy. knows her stuff regarding the class. Her book is interesting but with alot of grammatical errors. Shes okay though, easy A. I dont understand why people are saying shes a hard grader. Almost everyone in my class came out with an A and no one did the readings. Tip: Does not like you to email her

This professor is not professional to deal with students totally. She thinks she is teaching at a law school and students are at her level. She thinks shes all that and rude to students. I usually don't write reviews but it is Not worth it to take a course with her!!! She takes attendance whenever she feels like and not when she doesn't feel like.

She does know what she is talking about regarding this class, BUT she is very sarcastic and tends to be a tad bit rude. It is true if she dislikes you, she will make it very obvious throughout the whole semester. I tried in that class but had to drop the class because I could not stand it. She does not believe in emails so it is hard to contact.
