Comment:

Her math in the modern world is very boring but very easy. She is super sweet and will go over as many problems needed for the class to understand the material. Homework was rarely graded but would help prepare you for the test. Easy A.

I took the Math and the Modern World class. You can tell she wanted to help, but this class was so dull. We still have no clue if she ever kept the test and quiz grades since they weren't on Pilot. The first half was a boring rehash of everything people knew with a few things at the end that we weren't sure on.

I'm not really a math person, so the class was a bit of a struggle. However, if you ask her for help, she's happy to go over things with you. There's a TON of homework. It's not exceedingly hard, but it takes a long time so be prepared to set a good long time aside for it. She's pretty decent though.

She's a really nice lady who just seems pretty nervous in front of people. She's patient and will go over as many problems as you need. There were a lot of lazy jerks in my class who showed up late, if at all, and were openly rude to her. They were often the ones who needed the most help. Ms. Smith was more patient than they deserved.

Comment:

MTH 1450 is an extremely easy class. Some of Professor Smith's lessons are a bit confusing but overall, she explains the simple concepts very well. If you are decent at math and don't understand her lessons, you can still pass this class because the concepts are easy to teach to yourself. Tests and quizzes are very easy as well.

Not a very good professor. Just writes questions on the board and then answers them herself. Usually not very bad at math but can't seem to understand it when she teaches it. Would not recommend.

Her grading scale is all over the place(quizzes, test and exams), Her teaching methods make no sense most likely because they were taught to her back in her day and has never updating her teaching. Answers have to be done by the formulas that she teaches in class and nothing but is incorrect. Makes things harder then it needs to be.

She talks in circles, if you have a question on a problem she either makes you more confused and or just says the steps over again to get the answer, her grading scale is all over the place. I took this class in HS, figured out how to do the problems a different way, yet she doesn't except it, cause it was not the way that she taught it in class.

Ms. Smith is an extremely nice lady, however, when it came to the actual course material.... YIKES! I don't know whether she's too intelligent to figure out how to explain the material in simple terms or whether she was also clueless as I was. She stutters a lot, which can make it difficult to understand her answering a question. Nice, but no help.

Mrs. Smith is a nice lady, however, she made a class (that should have been simple) much more difficult than it had to be. She isn't clear in any sense of the word. I didn't know what was expected of me and it was hard to study for the exams because they were nothing like the homework or questions in book. She means well, but just isn't very good.

She is a professor who will help, but she over complicates everything. Her test have questions that none of the homework had. Then when you ask her why you got a question wrong she will not explain really why, instead she just says because that's the answer/

She's an aweful teacher. Very unclear. Not willing to help. Doesn't check her email. I appreciated that she accepted homework that you emailed to her if you couldn't go to class. During class though, she says "so", "uhm", and "yea" at least a thousand times a class. She also just reads problems off of a piece of paper and can't answer questions.

Not helpful at all, and her grading methods make no sense. I am good at math and thought this class would be a breeze, but kept getting D's on tests because of weird grading. She does not explain things well at all, & is not understanding of medical absences. Was in ICU and she said missing class was unacceptable. If you value your GPA do not take

Comment:

Very nice lady who wants you to do well. While its hard to stay focused in her class it is very easy. If you miss a class and have a good reason she will work with you to figure out where to go from there. She worked with me after explaining to her I had to have a certain grade to keep my scholarship. Pleased with her and the class.

Definitely a stupid easy class to the point that even if I missed a day of class I could keep up and beyond with no problems. Her homework policy frustrates me since I had to e gone for family issues and gave my friend my homework to turn into the office because she wouldn't take it the next day. Definitely a class I will be happy of when its over.

Terrible teacher. If you need to take this class do not pick her. She does not know what shes talking about, she babbles. You basically have to teach yourself from the book. She requires you to attend her class but does not email back when you contact her about why you can not be there. She works solely from a black board and her work is everywhere

Comment:

Professor Smith did a great job teaching the class during the summer (condsensed) session of MTH 145 at Wright State. Despite the majority of the class not listening and being obviously distracting, Ms. Smith handled herself with poise and grace. I would highly recommend her to anyone!!
