Class is pretty easy, even if you put in little effort. Her lectures aren't very helpful, but she does amazing test corrections, so my 52 on the midterm turned into an 84. When you do test corrections, go by her office and she'll give you the test answer key so you can make sure all your corrected answers are right.

Dr. Hirst is one of the best math professors I've ever had. She's always available for questions outside of class, and she genuinely wants to see her students do well. She gives second chances on quizzes and tests, and she made calculus easy to understand. Seriously, take her if you have the chance.

Dr. Hirst is one of the most amazing professors i've had! She's very passionate about math which makes the class so much more engaging than it could be. She also breaks concepts down in a way you can relate to as a calculus student. Very understanding and helpful, never makes you feel inferior for struggling with concepts. :) Overall great.

Dr. Hirst is great. Gives so many bonus points by the end of the semester, I was bumped a whole letter grade. Very approachable and always willing to help you out. Attendance mandatory, but gives bonus if you miss less than 3 classes. First unit was super easy but it got harder as time went on, put in effort and do your hw and you'll be fine.

My class was taught by a grad student, but Dr. Hirst was stopped by from time to time. She is super smart and very caring and nice. I would take courses taught by her again.

The class is simply a hard class. The typical issues with My Math Lab are constant with the instructor teaching things one way and then MML expecting you to do it a different way, leading to confusion. She tries very hard to present the material in a comprehensible way.

Hirst is an amazing professor! She explains everything so well, and she is so willing to help her students in any way possible. If there are other math teachers teaching what she's teaching, go with Hirst. She is just so fluent in her teaching style that basically everyone understands how to do the math. Basically what I'm saying is take her

Great professor! Her T.A.'s do most of the teaching, but she is available to help always. As long as you show up and do the work/study, the class will go by easy!

Dr. Hirst is the best math teacher I've ever had! The material is complex at times, but I like how she related it to real-life situations. Also, if you don't understand something, just go to her office hours. She is easy to approach and extremely patient. Trust me, I highly recommend taking Hirst for 1010!

GO TO CLASS GO TO CLASS GO TO CLASS. This material is easy, but if you don't go, you won't understand it. Dr. Hirst is a good professor overall. She wrote the textbook, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Sometimes it's easier to understand than she is. Attendance isn't mandatory, but please for the sake of your GPA go to class!!

I love Dr. Hirst! I was super worried about my math class my first semester of college but she is really helpful and nice! The class starts out super easy and progresses as the course goes along. Math 1010 is a great first college math course to take! I would definitely recommend getting Dr. Hirst as a professor!

Take another math 1010 professor. She doesn't explain anything and makes the TA sometimes teach instead of teaching herself. She is not very helpful when you ask questions. I have heard that the other math 1010 professors are much easier. I do not suggest Holly Hirst.

Her lectures are dry and boring and don't cover the material for the homework. I ended up teaching it to myself. Don't take her unless you want to nap for 50 minutes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I had Dr. Hirst for Calc II and she is an amazing math professor. People say Calc II is the hardest math class to take, but I'm actually enjoying it. She is very helpful and makes herself available as much as possible. Doesn't take attendance, but if you skip, you will be behind. She genuinely wants you to pass her class. If you can, TAKE HER!!

She was a really nice teacher and if you needed help, you have to ask for it. She isn't strict at all, but she is very confusing on her projects so make sure you are paying attention. She does'n take attendance which is nice. At the end of the year she doesn't give +- grades so I made a 89 in her class and she recorded it as a B not a B+.

Dr. Hirst is Awesome! She is always, always, always willing to help out students. Overall the class is very easy, but there is a lot of work. Its actually really helpful work though- not just busy work. She's a really fun professor and even treated our class to cookies, cider, and prizes on the last day. If you take 1010, take it with her!

Professor Hirst's class is very easy. She is very forgiving, accepts late work, and is always willing to help. Simple math, but it is applied more than a regular math class, which worked for me because I'm more of a social sciences person, but maybe not so much for a math major. Definitely take her class, it's easy and she's extremely friendly.

Dr. Hirst is great. She's very helpful and is willing to work with you whenever you need it. As long as you paid attention in high school math, this course is very easy. Her lectures can be boring, but she's super nice and I would definitely recommend taking her if you plan on taking 1010.

Just needed one Math credit so I took her Mat1010 course. It seriously was a huge bump to the GPA. Not difficult at all and she really is always there for help. She also responds to emails really quickly which is great for projects. There is no attendance policy and only three tests. Basically, she's great and you should take her.
