Professor Chmielewski is an amazing lecturer. I had her for Orgo 1 (the first Organic Chemistry course: CHM 255) and she decoded organic chemistry into something I could understand and follow throughout the course. Orgo became my favorite class because she made it fun and easy to understand. You have to go to lecture because she doesn't record them

Absolutely love Dr Chmielewski! She made organic chemistry fun, relevant and not too hard. Offers multiple extra credit opportunities, some of them very easy. Explains concepts well. Do the back-of-the-chapter problems for extra practice. Get the model kit because sometimes you just need to see the molecule. Plus, you can use it on exams.

She is an amazing professor who cares and wants everyone to do well. She gives you many resources to help. She does not do boiler cast but does hand out note packets every week that you just fill in.

She's a great professor, it's obvious she wants to make sure students understand the material. If you go to every lecture and recitation it is very possible to get a B or A with the extra credits she also gives. My tip: mechanisms seems to give people the most issues draw it again and again with simple and then more complex structures!

As if CHM 255 wasn't hard enough, Dr. Chmielewski was ok at teaching it. Her lectures were interesting, but the subject itself is just difficult. It didn't help that the class was only out of 500 points (4 homeworks & 3 exams) with no curve!

Dr. Chmielewski is awesome. She makes organic chemistry feel simple, and she has so much experience teaching the class that her lectures are well-understood and super organized. There aren't a lot of grades outside of exams, but a lot of extra credit is offered, especially if you go to weekly recitation.

I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. She makes something as daunting as O Chem seem like a fun challenge. Well structured lectures keep your attention and the note packets she gives out at the beginning of each week are EXTREMELY helpful. Use the packets to study for each test and you will pass without a problem. 255 is very test heavy, but with plenty of EC.

You MUST go to class or you won't pass! She is a decent lecturer and wants to help you understand it. Exams are decent as long as you know the material from the practice exams well.

There is no one else you should take CHM 255/256 with. Dr. Chiemelewski is the real deal. Do the back of the book problems and actively participate in recitation and lecture. Tests are fair and should be doable if you study. Hands out extra credit like candy (attend lecture) and wants you to succeed. Examples in notes are medically related.

She's very thorough in her lectures but not so much that she's hurrying. The exams in this class are a bit tougher than CHM 255 since the material is learnt more by practice rather than rote memorization but she generally makes them pretty fair. My advice: try your best to attend all lectures.

An absolutely amazing professor. Notes are concise and clear, going to lecture is important. Very FAIR grader; if you work hard, you can get an A+, if not an A. Extra credit is offered, both in exams and during lecture (surprise!). TA office hours are the key to this class. Didn't read textbook but DO the BACK of CHAPTER PROBLEMS before the exams!

Dr. Chmielewski is a fantastic professor. Taking organic chemistry was such a daunting task. She made it so easy! The way she lectures and explains the material is fantastic! She is very efficient, and she makes sure to put a lot of extra study material in the notes! I recommend doing the back of the book questions! She is absolutely superb!!!!!

While I don't enjoy organic chemistry, this professor managed to make it bearable. She is incredibly fair in assessment and grading. She is very invested in her students' success. If you need to take organic chemistry, you can't go wrong with this professor.

Overall, she was a superb teacher that made learning organic chemistry as interesting as it can be. I would 100% take another course offered by this professor because she is usually full of energy despite class being at 9:30AM. However, she rarely posts her lectures online, so while attending lecture is not mandatory, skipping is not recommended.

Great professor! Although you don't get points for class or iClicker questions 10/10 recommend going to every lecture! (Even review sessions) Notes are not posted online so need to get the notes from going to lecture. Weekly handouts are given out to fill out during lecture. Exams are very reasonable and practice exams are extremely helpful.

Had the opportunity of having her for CHM 255 and 256. She's a great professor that wants you to do well. Offers a lot of extra credit. Material isn't too difficult either. She really wants to make Organic chemistry as fun as it can be. She also made us cake on the last day :)

Amazing professor. She gives out handout at the start of every week. At the end of each chpt she gives you a bullet point list of things she want you to know. She also makes reaction maps and gives a great study packet for finals. Give out old exams as practice. All exams were fair, and she gives extra credit.

Jean is absolutely amazing. The lectures have packets that you just pick up at the beginning of class and fill out. I don't see why you would want to skip her class, but in case you do--- don't. Organic Chem isn't a walk in the park, and just as a heads up, the first exam is the easiest one, but props. the one you'll do the worst in
