Comment:
He assigns 3 papers for the semester and attendance being the 4th grade. I like the way he tracks participation. He gives everyone notecards and collects one from you every time you talk, tracking them, and giving them back the beginning of next class. Dr. weeks is over opinionated and papers are written in CHICAGO STYLE. No one uses that.

A difficult prof that told the class if you tried, went to office hours and participated, you would do well in the course. I did all of the above and he did not know my name. I found him rather useless and unclear with his assignment expectations. I learned a great deal, but it was mostly self-taught.

Not a bad teacher, but not really an easy class. Lots of reading, 2 papers, only 5-7 pages each. But he has so many english rules for his papers that you are probably better off taking a different prof. Rather opinionated, though he is usually pretty fun. His class discussion technique is questionable as well, I didn't care for it.

I went to his office hours 10 times to receive help on my papers. He was extremely helpful but definitely tough. If you work hard, you'll get a good grade. Don't take this one if you're looking for an easy A.

Extremely difficult, hated going to class. Discussion is 20% of grade but likes to only call on certain people, therefore making it hard to get any points. All discussion based therefore I learned nothing. Very strict with paper writing, not much leeway at all. Don't take his class- opt for 4/5 days a week instead.

very strict attendance policy! does not use carmen! lots of reading. very strict about using chicago-style referencing in papers. but he tries very hard to get the class involved. if you put in the time to skim over a few pages every night, you'll be just fine.

Weeks thinks he is a history god. He is very vague about what he wants on assignments, then marks things wrong on papers even if it says it in the book. He WILL absolutely push his liberal views on you. He treats this class like an honors course and is very arrogant. Don't expect a cakewalk.

was very unclear in what he wanted, seemed to favor certain students. His lectures were somewhat offensive, he pushed what he thought on you and did in a way that if you disagreed with his conclusion you must be stupid, I went and met with him about a paper and left almost in tears. If your a good student you'll do fine, but very frustrated.

Contrary to others' beliefs, I found Weeks to be a very easy instructor for those who regularly attend class. Lectures are the basis for tests, so you HAVE to be there. He spices up class with humor and politics, sure, but when it comes to assignments, we had 4, and they were graded VERY fairly. If you TRY, you'll go far in his class.

way too careful about making sure the minorities in class were not offended by things that were saidback in the 1830's, hard grader, but does appreciate when you take extra effort. if you're looking for an easy grade or a class you can skip, do not take

This teacher was one of the worst I've had as a grader. He was very intelligent, however horrible at making clear what he wanted. He doesn't care to know you or your name. He states one thing for a paper, then when you turn it in he states a completely different thing. I would not reccommend this guy if you are seeking help in receiving a good grad

Welcome to Mr. Weeks' class on the advancement of liberalism. He didn't even try to hide it. The main theme of his class was how republicans hate minorities. People like this is why university faculity have the reputation that they have. A joke!

Not recommended..he was very rude and arrogant. Kicked the whole class out one time for not doing the reading. Difficult grader on papers, never expect full credit. Does appreciate extra effort if you seek extra help. I'm just glad I had Hegerty to counterbalance this guy, she was wonderful.

He was my TA under prof Hegarty. He gave us very little extra work above what was needed for lecture so I would say he's pretty easy. Expects a decent effort for the papers, but still fair. Very helpful if you ask, and does good exam reviews. Do yourself a favor and take him, Hegarty's easy!!!!
