She makes geology way harder than it needs to be. The amount of times I've gotten no credit for a tiny little mistake I made is ridiculous. I would highly suggest not taking geology if you want to have a soul.

Useless. Had her for "Science without borders," basically a "science for liberal arts majors" class. Still, she was useless, unhelpful, basically inept, and assigned completely pointless assignments that there was no way she could grade. Even with all this, it was an easy class. But as a professor - no.

Nice lady outside of class but as soon as she is in that rooms he will suck out your soul. She doesnt listen to people's opinions and even if everyone fails an exam don't expect a curve. The work isn't to hard and if you do a little bit of studying then the exams are ok but don't expect any help from her.

Literally the worst teacher I have had at Elon. I had a 96 all year until the ridiculously impossible final which brought my grade down to a B+. Agnew does NOT know how to teach. She's flustered all the time and I can honestly say her class was the most boring I've ever had to sit through. DO NOT take this class.

Professor Agnew is the worst teacher Ive ever had. She often contradicts herself and is completely useless for help. If you miss class, your grade drops a lot, even if you're sick. Also, no makeup work is accepted, even on tests. The class itself is boring and inconsistent. I highly recommend avoiding all classes taught by Agnew.

I would strongly recommend to take another science class. Agnew is flustered most of the times and forgets vital information that you need on the test. The entire year I had an A, but on the final I received a lower grade because many questions on the final weren't covered in class or in the book. If you do take her pay attention in class and study

Jimmie is a really easy teacher. If you go to class the majority of the time and pay attention you dont have to study for the tests and will be fine. She always have office hours and will help you if you're not disrespectful and rude- but sometimes she does play favorites. EASY LAB SCIENCE! Don't piss her off and you'll get a B at minimum! TAKE IT!

not a hard class at all, if you pay attention 30 percent of the time then you'll be fine. She is indeed a terrible teacher with a**** grading system, I just never had an issue with her because I had a 98 throughout the semester and its hard to **** at someone who is acing. shes a pushover, everyone who responded before me is retarded

I took geology because it was a lab science without an extra lab. Her class is caios. Agnew has no idea how to control her emotions. She freaks out at students in front of the entire class regularly and is not helpful when you don't understand something. She expects you to teach your self and then quizes you on it without teaching you herself.

Jimmie Agnew does not know how to explain anything. She tries to explain the simplest concepts about rocks and fails terribly. She should not be a teacher. She needs a new job. I highly recommend that you do not take her for geology. She is awful to listen to and her tests are even worse than her lectures. IF YOU HAVE HER GET OUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Her ability to communicate is utterly awful. Often times her personal feelings towards you affect her flawed grading system. The questions on her tests are surface level, yet the responses she expects to receive are those you are like to find in novels. Most everything learned in the class was through a book, or another student. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

You would think an introductory course to Geology wouldn't be too difficult and its not. It's just that Professor Agnew's grading system is extremely flawed and does not make your grade what it should. She often gives attitude about helping outside of class. Whatever you do, don't take this for your lab science. It's not worth it.

Jimmie Agnew's geology class is very easy for what it is. It is a lab class but lab is included so you don't have to show up for three hours another day to do the lab. The class is fairly easy. Just show up, study a little for the tests and you will get a decent grade without much difficulty. I strongly suggest for a lab science class.

Jimmie is a very nice lady. I think that if she was to have a conversation witha geologist it would be apparent that she knows her stuff. But when it comes to teaching she simply falls short. One of the many instances i have come across at Elon where i have had a smart prof with horrible teaching skills.

This professor has a difficult time conveying information. Often times the topics covered in class are seldom on exams/quizes, and the information from the textbook is never clearly conveyed--though that's what's on the exams/quizes. When asked questions, she tends to skim over an answer or direct the person towards another unrealted inquiry.
