Comment:

I took ENG102 online, and have taken online classes before but never have gotten the grades (C's/D's/F's) on papers from other English classes like I did in this class. She was only concerned on the structure of the paper, not even the content. Limited us to the "databases" from tctc and that made it quite hard to find useful info for the papers.

Comment:

She is most likely one of the worst professors I have had since being at TCTC. I took Eng101 and I received A's on all of my papers and now she gives me C's, D's or failing grades for my grammar or structure on the essays. She doesn't even care what I write or looks at my content. I would not ever take this professor's class again.

I had her for ENG102 online. It really wasnt hard. The work and reading material isnt even that much. So long as you do it all and put forth the slightest effort you should be fine.

This was my first online class that I took, so my opinion might be because of that. I usually make A's in my classes (especially English classes), but this class was tough. She is fair, but she is probably the toughest grader I have ever had. On the final paper, she cares more about grammar and structure rather than content. Prepare to work hard.

She is the worst instructor I have ever had. I have taken many online classes and she is not a good online teacher. You have to search several places on the website to find instructions for one thing. She does not keep assignments and instructions all in one place so you always feel like you are missing something. She is rude .

I have taken almost my entire degree online and this was by far the worst! It feels like a scavenger hunt when trying to track down information for each assignment. She may give some details on the calendar and other details in three different folders. I would say she's not as bad in class, but online is very unorganized for the student.

Attend every class and you get 2 points added to your final average. She is a tough grader, but once you figure out what she is looking for, it is an easy class. She is a super cool lady and I wish she was my grandma.

Mrs. Kalley was one of my favorite teachers this semester. I went into 103 thinking she was going to be awful, but honestly I learned so much from her class. Once you understand how she grades, it is easy to make A's or B's on her papers. She is funny and very nice and helpful. Yes, tough grader but overall an awesome teacher.

I don't think that Kalley is as awful as everyone says, if you work for the paper and have others look over it to correct it it is not that hard to make an A or a B on one of her papers. Don't miss class though, you will most likely miss a deadline or important information on papers that are due. Don't take the class if you aren't willing to work.

Mrs. Kalley is really not as bad as everyone says. She is very direct with what she expects of you and is always there to answer questions. You do not have tests (except the final) because all of your major grades are essays. Be prepared to put work into your essays to score well. Overall she was a very good teacher and I learned a lot.

As a person who scored a near-perfect on the SAT, passed AP Language with a perfect score, and love English, I can say that this woman is not only an embarassment to the discipline, but also about as useless and ignorant as teachers come. She assigns pointless work and grades extremely harshly on the most miniscule aspects of papers. AVOID HER.

I wouldn't recommend her as a teacher to my worst enemy. You aren't rewarded for good content in your papers, but bad content immediately warrants large percentages off. All she is concerned about is minor problems (such as incorrect commas) that will cost you large points on your work. Assigns pointless assignments and isn't much help when asked.

Mrs. Kalley is a hard teacher and there are a lot of papers to write in a short amount of time. She is a nice person and very willing to work with you but I would never take a class from her again. she is very hard!

Is not concerned with actual content of papers, only cares about format being correct. The biggest problem is she limits the sources of most papers to "databases" from the tri-county online library. These databases have little to no information on anything besides the general idea of a topic, making each paper an incredible time-consuming chore.

Knows her stuff, but is more concerned with how you format your homework instead of the actual content. Made a B, but it took alot of work. Be willing to read plenty and memorize who writes what. You WILL have hard online quizzes. Just be willing to put in the WORK.

Kalley is a very hard grader. She is not always open for help and she does sometimes make you feel dumb for asking questions. Make sure to read exactly what she wants because she will take off a lot of points if you don't have it right.

This is the honest truth. Mrs. Kalley is a very hard grader. One comma off means 10 points gone. But after you understand her grading it becomes very easy to pass her class. I passed with a c and thats all that i asked for. She goes into great detail about what she wants in her papers. Hard grader but also a very good professor

This teacher is awful. I am in the Bridge program and our class is supposedly "specialized". It's crap. I've written 40 page research papers for science projects in the INTERNATIONAL science fair. I've won countless national essay contests. I think I know how to write. This lady refuses to actually grade properly. She fails us on purpose.
