I've had some terrible professors in my time at Wayne State University. John Sase was by far the worst. His attempt at making class unique ended up just being an excuse for him to ramble on for three and a half hours. I can honestly say I've never learned less in more time. His exams are a scavenger hunt for random minutia; you'll be left guessing.

Dr. Sase is super willing to be available in class, and out of class. While grading expectations are not as clear as they should be, he is a fair grader. Even if you're frustrated with other reviews, know that the class grade is easier than the class itself, as long as you give it the college try.

Honestly, I have never felt more compelled to write a review on a professor in my entire college career. Dr. Sase will lecture on his own research which is usually conspiracy theories about cities and random facts. Sounds fun? Nope. Then he will test you on how well you read the textbook he never talked about and how well you can edit his work.

John Sase is a bright instructor who knows his economics and history. Sure, the lectures seem off topic, but connect with the readings in interesting ways. This is how you have to think when writing his synthesis exams. Opt to take them in stead of the in-class, multiple choice test. I highly recommend him to any serious student.

Dr. Sase is a good professor. The class isn't the easiest but it's definitely not impossible. The subject matter is pretty interesting too. I wouldn't recommend this class as your WI unless you are very good at writing essays. The exams were take home for the undergrad/non WI students... INCLUDING the final! NICE GRADING SCALE! 85-89.9% is an A-!

Nice guy but boring class. You are expected to turn in your essays on time. Instructions are straight forward. Not a hard class but no easy at the same time. You do learn new stuff on how to write papers and the topics are interesting enough. I hardly went to his class but still pulled a B+. There are 3 essays, A pp presentation, and a final exam.

I learned a lot from this class. Sometimes he did get a little off topic and it got boring but it was clear what was expected of us. He made me think about the materials in different ways and helped me to find a contact for an internship. He's very helpful, you just have to ask.

This guy thinks he's the smartest person in Detroit. I wanted to learn about financial markets, especially since the class was called Financial Economics. You'll end up learning more about Sase and his various jobs and how he got his Phd. He's more fascinated with the clip art then the words on his slides. Lamo!

This class is a total joke and waste of time. Grades are arbitrary and he made us buy a $80 book that we never opened. The guy is love with himself and speaks as if teaching a phd course. No real organization or set standards for the course, he rants about what ever he feels like and shows clips to try to convert us to communism.

This guy is brilliant and talks, but everything he talks about it always a side topic. He rarely talks about any materials that are on the test. Waste of time. He also complains about walmart and I don't think he is very fond of capitalism. Commie.

Okay prof, but can we talk about something more interesting than the market for ice cream? The first exam is A LOT harder than I expected. Take all the quizzes and study the book and you'll do fine.

He was very boring speaker and always talked about the graphs he made and nothing else. Word to the wise READ THE BOOK ALWAYS you won't pass just by listening to the lectures. The lectures are only at best 15% of the tests. My boyfriend got a A out the class and I got a lousy C.

Be prepared this guy is about as boring as they come, but there's a big curve so if you dont think you're doing that well just stick with it. Exams are hard but the quizzes come straight form the book. Go to class because he gives easy extra credit quizzes.

He's alright. Class is boring but if you show up most of the time he give extra credit. His exams are very hard, but gives a very big curve. Stay in his class and in the end you will do fine. I averaged a B on all the exams but recieved an A in the class.

Very knowledgable, but not a very good teacher. Teaching methods are very ineffective. Exams are very complicated and had nothing to do with the lectures. I passed this class only because he graded on a curve.
