Professor Suarez is could be a pretty tough paper- he makes you work for it. However, he is super helpful and really passionate about making his student's better writers. His class may be boring, but I can honestly say I learned a lot. He emphasizes the importance of empathy and open ended questions when doing service-learning.

he's very on top of his students. constantly emailing you and letting you know whats due when. i wouldn't recommend taking CPN 102 bc there is 30 hours of community service required to pass and it is harder than you think. constantly working on papers. when you ask for help he makes you figure out the answer and doesn't tell you what you want.

John Suarez is a very nice guy and means well but I do not recommend the class though. You never get a break with writing at all and he is not a very clear teacher even though all year he teaches about how important clarity is. Tough grader and must do community service along with everything else. NOT WORTH IT

Do not recommend this class. He is frustrating to work with and when if you go to him for help he does not give clear answers. He wants you to figure out what he wants. Very confusing. To get a good grade speak up and constantly go to him to revise essays, even though it's frustrating.

I really like him. He gets the class involved instead of just talking at you for the whole time. He is very understanding and he will help you anytime you ask. You just have to ask! I would recommend taking a class of his, he is great!

I wouldn't recommend him. He is a very hard grader and the class is a lot of work. You put a lot of work into your papers which come back with aggravating comments. You never know what is expected of you. Nice guy, but very difficult and not worth your time.

DONT TAKE HIM...not a fair grader, so much outside work and mandatory meeting outside of class that are unnecessary and a waste of time. So many papers and assignments that you edit a million times and he still fails you. He wont give grades higher than a C and it is not fair.

Suarez can be confusing and he does give alot of work but he is definately one of my favorite professors. He is so nice and understanding and will help you with anything. He is a little bizarre but you'll love it! He can be unclear at times but he constantly emails you to remind you.

Very adaptable. He e-mailed everyone the day before class to have them ready for tests and classwork. He's really easy on ya, and if you miss a test or a deadline he'll let you make up for it ... try any class he has

Dr. Suarez is the man. Yeah, he doesn't seem like he is there to necessarily teach but instead, make friends...but he is definitely one person that I'd consider being friends with. Take Sci-Fi for a GE, it wasn't hard at all and was interesting.
