Amazing professor. Went into it with the idea that he was super hard and unfair. He is completely fair and understanding. He's clear and is always willing to help when you need it.

Comment:

Attendance is mandatory. HW due a minute before class starts! He is a great prof. clarity in his teaching and will answer your questions. It's accounting, do your work as a student. He gives a lot of extra credit through HW and surprise small quizzes. DO all the HWs! They are the easiest points and you can correct them. Do the work = get an A.

Mr. Dawson may seem hard. But, he is fair. He allows you to correct your homework and exams to get an improved grade. He has office hours and will help you with your homework if you are having problems. All you have to do it ask. If you do not ask he will just move on. So do not be afraid to ask. Do the homework and you will be fine.

Not recommended AT ALL unless you already have a grasp on accounting. Very fast paced, no time for retaining any info. 5 tests and 2 projects. Does allow for corrections on homework and on tests. Flips out easily, did twice and then gave up completely the last weeks before final. Will be using a dif. Campus for 2302 to avoid him next semester.

If you are majoring in accounting i would really recommend taking him. I learned alot in his class. He is hard, there are 5 exams 2 big projects and homework every class. But he is helpful if you go up to him.

I took his acct 1 & 2 classes about 10 years ago. Strict, hard and demanding but actually a good guy. He makes people act responsibly. The best part about his class is that he recycles all his old tests. If you can get your hands on his old tests they are the keys to your current test and sometimes they're the exact, verbatim test itself.

Yes, he is strict and boring BUT I found his class to be straightforward. Examples in class= homework. Just be on time, do ALL homework, and ask questions in class- if you're lost/confused, he WILL explain until you understand, you just have to ask! Plus, corrections on homework & tests help pick up your grade. I made an A & was exempt from final!

I have taken Mr. Dawson twice now. You can NOT miss class because you will be extremely lost. My advice is to do all homework and before it's due go by his office (or there's plenty available tutoring) and get it checked. He gives ample amount of time to do corrections on homework AND test! I made an A & didnt have to take the final!!

Ok yes he is a very strict, stubborn, almost intimidating at times. I have struggled through this class, but thats because it had been since high school i learned accounting, so know something. Yes attendence is mandatory but necessary u miss one class you will get lost so just show up. If you ask for help he will help. He knows his stuff

He is dry, humorless, stubborn, and oddly paranoid. He is rude and treats his students like children. You're expected to read before class, and KNOW the material because you WILL be called on. Lateness is unacceptable. You will be locked out of class if you are one minute late. He allows you to correct homework and tests, which is very helpful.

Mr. Dawson is very hard. Every day we learned something new and we rushed through every lesson. If you are new at accounting I wouldn't recommend Mr. Dawson as your teacher. Professor Dawson expects you to be punctual, and (gasp!) attendance is mandatory (as you would in the working world). Plenty of leeway is given by the opportunity to correct every test and homework assignments. This class should be an attainable A if you're the least bit serious about college.

He is a very awesome professor. As long as you do the homework and do the corrections for the homework and the tests, their is no way you can't get atleast a B in the course. Also he gives you a chance to retake one test, so honestly you are responsible for your own grade.

Very tedious, strict, and attendance is beyond mandatory. does give opportunities to correct every test and hw, but does not give leeway for anyone. Lets just say I had 795 pts/1000 in the class, a 79.5 avg, and got a C in the class after making nothing lower than an 85 on every test. I thought he was a great teacher until I my final grade

This class is difficult and you will work for the grade you get. If you do all your homework and make all corrections possible on both tests and homework you are pretty much guaranteed at least a C. I failed every test but did well on every HW and made all my test corrections and received a B in the class. College offers free tutoring.

Slow to the point. Has the mentality of a high school teacher not a college professor. An accountant for sure though, dry tedious, and boring. Trys to engage students but seemingly counterproductive. Asks questions on a subject before teaching it.
