I took a 4-week online class with this professor and I think she was a great option! She listens to feedback, adjusts her schedule and workload to make lot easier on students, and she cares about your education, not just your grades.

The material was interesting but she was so boring and things were always pushed back. Such a nice lady, but she expected us to know too much. Weekly quizzes on long readings. 3 tests but they weren't too bad, but she is a very slow grader. She will never respond to emails. Okay choice but I wouldn't recommend.

Solometo is a very nice lady who really cares about anthropology. Her class is very lecture heavy with weekly online quizzes based on multiple long readings. Anth 205 isn't an easy A if you're just looking for a simple gen ed.

She's amazing. Class isn't easy, but so worth it. Material is dense but she explains it really well. She doesn't take attendance, but if you don't go then you're screwed for the tests. She really cares about her students and does everything she can to help you be successful. Type notes since she talks fast and doesn't post slides on Canvas.

AVOID!!!!! I thought I could handle the readings, but this is an insane amount of work for a gen ed. don't waste your time with this class. really really upset on how this class is going; it had so much potential to be good.

Professor Solometo was a very nice lady, but her class was extremely difficult for a Gen Ed. There is so much reading and the quizzes are extremely difficult. Her class is a big lecture and is very long, with a lot of content. Unless you are an Archeology nut, AVOID THIS CLASS!!!

Attendance is necessary because she does not post lectures/notes. There are reading quizzes with VERY long readings and they are only 5 questions and very specific. She puts out study guides for the tests that are super specific so as long as you fill it out and study it nothing will shock you on the test and you should do fairly well!

This class wasn't too bad. The quizzes were based on readings outside of class and there are only 5 questions on them so be sure to read carefully. Tests aren't too bad as long as you attend lecture. Nothing will be on the tests that you didn't explicitly see in class. Overall, a normal and interesting class!

Hard class (if you're not in the major) but she is very approachable. She supplies study guides and holds review sessions outside of class for her exams and always encourages students to ask for extra help if they need it - tough but fair.

I really wanted to enjoy this gen ed and was sad to find out that such an interesting topic is taught in such a boring way. You have really long readings that you're quizzed on for every new topic, her test are hard and be prepared for short answer questions. her lectures are boring and the workload is for an anthropology major not a gen ed class

This class reminds me of AP World in high school. There is a lot of reading, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. She gives study guides before the tests which are really helpful. Overall, it's not that hard, but you need to show up to class to get the notes. Also, she is a slow grader.

Dr. Solometo is great. She has weekly readings and quizzes, and they are hard. You have to read word for word and understand every single sentence. Make sure you can put aside at least 12 hours to read the readings very carefully. She is really helpful though and wants her students to succeed I think. But her lectures are boring but she is cool.

Solometo is awesome. She is tough but it makes you better. She gives good feedback which makes you a better writer. You have to do a final project which is hard but it's good to learn how to use GIS in an anthropological way.

Nice lady, kinda sassy. I feel bad but everyone signs up for her class thinking it'll be interesting and then she just bores everyone to death. The readings are a waste of time because the quizzes are worded terribly. Test was too hard for a GenEd.

Do not take this class. It is so boring. She's a nice woman, but this was the most boring class I have ever taken. You'd think it would be awesome based on the name, but its not. Tests are really difficult. IF you want to learn about what plants and animals hunter-gatherers ate for two months, then this is the class for you.

The lectures feel like they never end. She rambles a lot and the powerpoints aren't very clear. The tests are VERY difficult and the short answer portion is hard to understand what she wants. Don't take if you don't like reading. there are weekly readings that are sometimes up to 40 pages and then weekly 5 question quizzes. GO TO CLASS!!!

She is an awesome professor! Super nice and definitely wants to help her students. Her tests can be a little hard and her lectures are pretty long however. Also a lot of reading. But if you do the readings and study hard for the test an easy BB+

She can get super boring during her lectures, even though the material could actually be taught in an interesting way. There are weekly 5 question quizzes with 2 points each, based on readings she puts online that can be up to 20 pages long with small text. No textbook, but you need to go to class to get the notes.

She's really nice and you can tell she loves her job, but she's boring. She rambles off topic a lot. I felt like I was dying. The topic itself was interesting, but the way she presents it is just blah. No textbook, but there are online readings. Her notes are out of order and at times isn't clear in what she is looking for in the essays.

Really nice teacher, but really hard. She treats this like anthropology is your major. She is helpful in office hours and has review sessions before the tests and drops your lowest one! No textbook, but LOTS of reading for online quizzes. Don't take if you want an easy A in a gen Ed, Challenging class overall
