Comment:
Julio is a great person if you get to know him. Classes are usually boring. He would use the book to go over vocabulary. Not much in the way of grammar. A lot of fill in the blanks for exams. If you participate in class and keep a positive attitude you should do well. Buena suerte!

Comment:
Julio is great! He's big on participation and group tests. A lot of people complain about him, but it is most likely because they're lazy and do not want to put the work in. Julio teaches you a lot about Spanish culture as well as the language, and you can tell he is very passionate. I highly recommend his class!

Very bad teacher who is disinterested in the class. Focuses a lot of participation and talking in class as oppose to grammar and actually learning stuff. Never actually teaches, but shows a lot of videos. If you play soccer, you'll probably get an A.

Professor Lopez is very good at what he does. Unfortunately the assigned textbook wasn't great (not his fault) so we had to jump around a lot which made class sometimes a little hard to follow. He is very conversationally oriented; His philosophy is that if you don't really know a language until you can speak it.

Professor Lopez motivates his students to get excited about speaking another language. He doesn't ask too much for Homework. If you already have some knowledge of spanish you might be able to zip through and get good grade. Provides environment of jokes. One negative thing is that he mix up lessons for Ithaca with lesson from Wells.

We do absolutely nothing. All he ever talks about is his 3 failed marriages, his depression, and his battle in court to get his kids. He never teaches anything (even when we request him to do so). He also imposes his beliefs on highly controversial and religious topics unto his classes. It's an easy A, but there is no education value here.

If you want to learn spanish and proceed on to higher levels, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. It is a complete waste of time and money!!He did not teach once all semester, instead we are expected to learn Spanish ourselves (which is very hard for intro to a lang.) Again, if you want to learn spanish, take it with anyone else but him!

Well, I suppose if you want someone to just make sure you come to class and compare homework with your neighbor, Julio is perfect. But if you actually want a professor who will teach, you won't find it here. He knows how to speak it, but he just doesn't teach it. The class is a waste of your (or your parents) money.

Easy class. We did group tests and played soccer outside once as long as we spoke spanish while doing it. Unfortunately I didn't learn much, so when I went on to the next level I was a bit lost.

Joke of a class, which I liked. I did actually learn some spanish that I hadn't learned in HS, so I did learn something. Tests were done in groups of 3-4, but really the whole class did tests together, graded by each other. Funny guy, very nice, but someone needs to get him to get rid of his fear of flying and his insomnia. I feel bad for him.
