This whole class is based on quizzes and tests. If you don't do the exercises you will not pass! You need to purchase the book in the edition he says. If you think you can do the exercises you will do great on the quizzes/tests. He lets you use notes so do your exercises on a google doc and use (command f) to search the questions fast.

My favorite teacher! Take this class online, it was great. Instant grading, very clear and same routine every week. He gives lots of extra credit.

Tip: compile all study guides with typed-in answers into one document so you can use the search feature for the final. This class is so great if you want the most learning with the least amount of effort, to always know your grade, and are independent and efficient. 90% is open book tests. If no Qs about films in guide, take good notes.

Reading & Map Quizzes weekly, there are reading exercises that take you more than 20 hours a week. They include reading the book chapter very closely then visiting 10 different websites and reading more articles and gathering data on the topic. Then, there is the map quiz Info not always in the book and asks more than location on quiz. Ridiculous!

Great teacher but lectures can be dry. Weekly quizzes, study and you will be fine. He offers tons of extra credit, do it and do it early. Two exams which can be difficult but they are book open note so take good notes. Other than that he is a solid guy and I really respect him as a teacher!

Stewart is an awesome professor. You will have reading quizzes every week and tests at midterm and final time. If you dont do the exercises for the quizzes, you wont pass the quizzes or tests. There is enough extra credit to get at least a letter grade above your normal scores.

I don't know if it was just me but I could not stand listening to this guy talk. Like nails on a chalkboard. Stewart is not helpful and does not make himself available to his students for additional help. Tests are extremely specific and hard. You're basically left up to your own devices in his class. Do not take.

Very Organized class but hard to do without dedicating huge amount of time to course. STEM majors take course early for the pathway

Steve is a good guy but he will make you work. I loved that he brings us in to teach at Sierra View. Best part of the class by far. Be aware that he goes after cheaters. Three students were just gone after he caught them but since I didn't cheat it wasn't a problem for me. I'd take him again.

Most organized online class I have ever taken. Very straight forward and pretty interesting for a class I had to take. The professor responds to email quickly. The study guides are time consuming but most test questions are diectly from the study guides so get out what you put in. Lots of extra credit too.

Fair amount of work but incredibly clear structure and grading for online. Quiz on the reading once a week with a map quiz. Just read the assigned section, do the reading exercise to guide you, and the tests are no problem. More preparation better grade. You always know what to expect with the online version. Seriously, no reason not to do it.

All rote learning and memorization, professor does not believe online provides"classroom community", does not bother to lecture, lets the computer grade useless questions. Gave a awesome book called Tortilla Curtain to read but HAD NO DISCUSSION. He said he does not do discussion forums as students do not make an effort. No effort from instructor

Tons of reading but you are provided all worksheets for guided notes from day 1. Entire grade is based on quizzes/exams based on the notes. Read the books (text and 4 novels), do the worksheets, easy A. Also offers extra credit. He was always willing to listen to my concerns about exam Qs and usually gave a few EC points for my time. Recommend.

Steven is a really cool guy, he really knows a lot about geography. He's passionate about teaching but the class is tough. There are quizzes every week online and in class plus homework, teaching practicums, and tests. He is easy to talk to and work with; lots of extra credit.

He is a really great teacher and very passionate about his class. Definitely take advantage of the extra credit, it helped me get an A in the class because I used it all! He cracks some semi-cheesy jokes but great guy overall.
