This is a required course for IR majors. I learned a lot and am glad I took it with Gallagher. He's a good lecturer and tests are doable.

Prof. Gallagher is amazing! He clearly explains things in lecture and will go over important stuff multiple times. He is very knowledgable. If you do all of the assignments and go to lecture you will fin fine in this course

The IR department has many high quality professors, and I would not rank Gallagher among them. In comparison, he simply is not their equal. He prefers to talk about subjects that interest him rather than concepts, which left a non economics person like me left not understanding a thing. I found him unapproachable and arrogant.

Professor Gallagher is awesome! I'm not a huge fan of econ, but he made it bareable to listen to and was really helpful. His choice of TAs, on the otherhand, were quite weak. If you have any questions, he is more than happy to set up a time with you to go over anything. Great professor and nice guy, all around.

The million dollar book was EXTREMELY helpful and Kevin is very funny. Its a good combination: a good book and slides (he post the slides) plus a hilarious professor that will make you laugh. He is like another student who knows how our mind works to understand..

He knows his students dont care about economics, so he makes it as painless as possible. I went in ready to hate the class and left loving it.

My favorite professor at BU. It would be inconceivable for someone to not like Gallagher. He is funny, incredibly smart, and great at stimulating interest. He explains concepts crystal clear too. I didn't have all prereqs and didn't suffer one bit because he's so good. The class is amazing too, highly recommend it.

Gallagher is awesome! He totally knows that no one in the class is that interested in economics, but he still makes it as interesting as possible. Micro and macro are prereqs for this, and I hated those two classes, but I actually enjoyed this one. As far as difficulty, it kind of balanced out, because the midterm was easy and the final was hard.

Decent class for non economic IR majors, doesn't force graphs and math...midterm was quite doable but the final was very difficult...however i also felt that i had a disadvantage cause half the class had the TA in discussions who could barely speak english while the other half had captain america of economics for discussion

Professor Gallagher was awesome. All IR students have to take this class and he understands that none of us really want to be there but actually makes the material interesting. Does his best to help you do well. He's the best professor for this class.

I can't even imagine taking this class with another professor. Gallagher did his best to make sure his students understood the material. The final was especially tough, but he tries to help you, not hurt you. Liked it more than I expected.

Laid back and engaging, I definitely recommend him. Don't need to worry about exact dates or figures, just know the concepts. Exams are from lectures though the readings backed up what was talked about in class. Smaller class would have been better; no real opportunity for class discussion.
