I got her online because of corona. She doesn't know how to work canvas in any way shape or form. This boomer needs to be laid off as she was one of the worst teachers I've ever had period. Don't take not worse the waste of your own time.

I respect her as a person and shes a good professor. However, this was by far the hardest class I ever took. She gave us study guides that didnt have anything to do with the tests, and shes a very tough grader. The average test scores were really bad in her class, and the only reason I passed was because she gave extra credit. Thankful for that.

Awful! Very politically biased. She had us raid our hands for what political party we leaned most toward. Those who werent leftists/progressives failed every question she asked the class, and would humiliate people in front of the class for their political POV. Very unprofessional.

By far the worst professor I have ever had. Very narcissistic about her own class and thoughts. If you didn't say exactly what she wanted then you were missing points. Exams were largely graded on essay questions that did not match the study guides and lectures were not helpful. The average exam score never got over a 70%. NOT ONCE.

Shes an exceptional lecturer, provides really good feedback, and is a tough but smart class to take. Love Dr. Edquists classes, respect the hell out of her, and wish ultimately we had the same academic/research interests. I got over 100% on every test because she curves them and gives extra credit for good answers. Made me love IPE!

She is such an amazing and intelligent person. That being said, she grades very difficultly and expects a lot out of her students. If you are interested in politics, you will LOVE this class. I have learned so much. If you aren't fond of reading, you will struggle. You will not pass this class if you miss the weekly quizzes. I really liked her

Quizzes every other day based on the book. Three exams, not based on the study guide she hands out. Lectures for the 50 minutes every day, and does not allow technology. she also takes attendance for participation points.

This class started not looking so bad, but as the quarter went on it only got worse. They're all cumulative so be prepared to have a lot of information. Prof. Edquist expects you to study 2 hours a day. The quizes are easy but she's a hard grader for the tests. The average score on the first exam for the entire class was a 67%.

Only able to pick topics that fit her international relations "criteria". Attendance is a must and a well developed background in politics/history will help you. The book is a must and reading is required almost every day. Knows and understands the topic but not good at teaching it.

This class is one of the hardest that I have ever taken. If you don't have a good background in international politics I suggest you take other classes first. There are online quizzes from the reading at least 3 times a week and a huge case study assignment that it worth like 30% of the class overall. BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD!

I hate taking politic classes because I can never understand. But I took international relations with this professor. I actually liked it. It was interesting and the professor is nice. It's not an easy class but the professor makes it better.

I took Edquist this Spring quarter, excellent professor. Really made the class interesting. She goes over the material in the readings in class and lectures. Expect reading quizzes, and fairly difficult tests. If you go to class, take good notes, and study the readings, you'll be good.

Professor Edquist is one of my all-time favorite teachers at Eastern. You have to work for a good grade, but if you're willing to put the work in and really attend in class she's very helpful in office hour, willing to help with any question you have. Make sure to do the reading for quizzes too, it'll be hard to get a good grade on those otherwise.

I've had her for two classes. All her classes have the same structure; reading and quiz every day, two "case studies", 2 exams, and a final exam. The daily quizzes really wear you down. I do like her, so I didn't hate the class. If you don't have your text the first day, you are already behind. I love the material, but there is no enthusiasm.

If you want a good grade, be prepared to work for it. She really cares about the subject. I really enjoyed the class; but I came prepared and ready to work each day. Interesting subject, and she teaches well. Nightly homework (reading quizzes online), two papers, two tests, and a final. Recommend to people ready to work and learn.

Dr. Edquist is an awesome professor. She's hard, but that's why I like her. She doesn't cater to people who expect not to do work in her class. She is super easy to talk to and you can ask her questions during her office hours and she answers every one. If you put in work, she's going to go above and beyond to help.

She is unclear about everything and her tests are complete bs bc they are irrelevant to the learning material. She will take a simple question like "What are you doing?" and turn it into something far beyond comprehension. I showed up, did everything correct and somehow still struggled my way through. Do NOT take this course!

Comment:
She is very unhelpful for preparation for tests. For our final, she suggested we go over both of our exams and the quizzes (which is all on canvas) and do the study guide. So I try to go to Exam 1 and its locked and ultimately there is nothing she can do about it, so she suggests looking at the quizzes prior to exam 1, and guess what, its locked.

As a senior here at Eastern, Edquist has to be one of my favorite professors that I've had. I've taken two classes from her, and loved them both. You do have to do some reading, and some writing, but it isn't more than any other class. Her tests are fair, and sometimes even online. She is an excellent grader, giving you great feedback. Great prof!

Not the first class I have taken with her, but the experience is always the same. She is very helpful and makes class fun. Her tests are hard, but not if you study, she always gives a solid study guide to use. I will take her classes until I graduate!
