Comment:

There are lots of assignments. If you want a good grade, you will easily spend 14 hours week on homework. The construct of the papers is complex but educational. The weekly quizzes are time, to around 1.5 to 2 minutes per question, no second chance and not all are multiple choice. Overall this is a good college-level course.

So far, I am on the fence. Her timed 10 question quizzes are difficult to say the least. I have asked her if she could aid us at all on what to study. She simply said, if I read both chapters it would help. The two chapters, no kidding. So far not impressed.

Very reasonable woman! She is a stickler on grammar as others have said, so make sure you check your work! Her grading is fair though, and she always explained why I missed points on papers, so that I could do better next time.

Good communication and clear grading criteria, she expects good grammar because this is an English class. and there is a lot of writing of course. Nothing not as expected.

I took her class online and felt like I learned a lot. She expects close to perfect grammar and will mark you down for each little mistake. I HIGHLY recommend paying for Grammarly while in this class. It saved my grade. She is very organized, answered all my emails, and lays out clearly what is expected.

I took Women's Lit and Creative Writing from Professor Foss. She is an excellent teacher- and expects you to be an excellent student. People complaining here, I feel most certainly did not do their work as expected. Yes, I wrote a page in a journal every day. It was in the syllabus, no reason to cry over it after the fact. She helps if you ask.

Hybrid class. Extremely hard. Quizzes every Friday, miss one you're screwed. Writing in your "writing journal" is MANDATORY you miss like 50 pts at the end if you haven't written as least a page in your book everyday, with dates. Not recommended.

Linda was a nice lady! Her hybrid English 102 class was hard, but if you followed her deadlines, you could keep up! I spent so much time on the final paper, and it really paid off! I would recommend her if you are good with self-motivation and not procrastinating!

I had an A all through the quarter then on the final paper she failed me! She said I didn't have two books cited, but they were on the paper. The class was pretty easy but I got so stressed with the final. I wanted/needed help but she would make you feel dumb for asking any questions and tell you it's all on the syllabus.

DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!! She was EXTREMELY HARD when it comes to your final paper. I had over 100% all the way threw the quarter. Did EVERYTHING asked. And she FAILED my final paper because I had quoted some things wrong, which I had been doing all quarter and she never said a word on all quarter long till the FINAL. NOT WORTH THE STRESS!!!

Her voice makes you want to rip your hair out, she is completely uninterested in any problems you have and treats you like an idiot for answering questions. I would definitely not recommend her. Her assignments are elementary, making it difficult to stay focused. Take Weil, Reigle, or anyone else for english classes if yo ucan.

Comment:

I took ENG 102 & Women's Lit from her and plan on taking more classes from her. She makes you take an interest in new ideas and concepts. Her classes are hard, but she is very clear about what she wants on assignments. Students that don't listen to directions will not do well in her class. It also helps to not miss class - you'll get behind.
