Amazing professor. Loved him. Wanted students to succeed - show tricks how to remember things. Online homework due every night. Quizzes and tests were reasonable. Very upfront with what is expected. If studying vocab and things in textbook you will do fine.

Comment:

Good teacher. Very stern and straightforward, but fluent in the language and will answer any questions you may have about anything, even if it's not in the course material. Tests, quizzes, and homework are all fairly easy if you study and put in some effort. Required graded service activities and cultural activities. They were unnecessary.

Comment:

Professor Stroik was one of my favorite teachers I have had at USD. He genuinely wants his students to understand the material. He gives students extra time with tough material if they need it. There is a lot of homework but it is very manageable. His tests are very straight forward. As long as you attend most of the classes you'll get an A/B.

Professor Stroik really makes an effort to help you understand the material. Class usually goes by pretty quickly, and the activities you do in class are exactly like the ones on the tests. If you do your homework and actually work to understand the material, it's an easy class. I definitely recommend him.

Stroik is the besssst! He knows you are there just to fill a language requirement but at the same time he does his best to get you excited about what you're learning. He makes it crystal clear what you need to know, just make sure you do the online homework!!

This class is really boring but Stroik isn't bad. He tries to keep it interesting. You do a lot of writing in this class and its pretty challenging. But if you work hard and pay attention in class then you can get a good grade.

Amazing professor! Does his best to make the class lively and entertaining. Has some really funny jokes and is always willing to answer questions. He's also a really easy grader. definitely the best way to go for french 201.

I absolutely loved this class. Professor Stroik is a patient teacher. He is always willing to explain something and he never gets irritated if students have no idea what he is saying. I would definitely take another class with him!

Hes great! you'll take a test, get 25 wrong and you'll still get a B. Quia (the homework) sucks but whatever. this is the only class i look forward to going too. hes animated and makes the language fun and easy. take him if you want a good french experience! trust me, i hated the language before i took his class!

The class could be dry but luckily he keeps the tone light-hearted and easy to follow. There is a lot of reading and it can be overwhelming but he grades very generously, in my opinion. I'd take another class with him.

I find him obnoxious, rude, and enjoys making up strange facts about the French culture. However, the class is very easy. I didn't do the hw or buy the book and I got a B. I'm sure it would be an easy A for anyone who actually cared.

I love this guy! He is so funny and really loves French! Allthough he is not a native speaker, he has a beautiful french accent and really cares about what he is teaching! Take his class he really makes learning french a blast.

Best teacher I have had thus far at this University. I actually looked forward to going to class and he made it very entertaining. I learned so much and have decided to go abroad because of him. Take him if his class is not full, and if it is, wait until his class opens up because he would be worth the wait.

As long as stroik is still taking kids to AIX definately take him! I'm one of the originals from that program and we all still keep in touch w/each other and with him! As far as professors go - this is one that really can make your expierence at USD worth while!

Amazing professor! You will fall in love with France if you take him! As long as he sees your effort, he will help you. Don't expect an easy A though.
