Very knowledgeable about art but her lectures are not very interesting. There are two papers and exams that make up your grade which involve you memorizing a lot of information about different artworks.

She's the worst lol I took her because I thought it would actually be interesting, but I was so bored. You can't use any electronics and she yells at you if you do. There are so many notes and the midterm and final are hard. She gives you a study guide but if you don't study the way she suggests you will fail. Do not take.

Linda Koch's Art History course was one of the most difficult courses I've taken in college thus far. Through a lot of hard work (25+ hours of studying for her exams, keeping up with the assigned readings, completing assignments well and on time), I was able to receive a high A in this class. Be prepared to work, but I promise you will learn a lot.

Art history classes use PowerPoint slides and have to dim the lights to do it - bring caffeine. Seriously.

Lectures are somewhat boring but as long as you take notes the class isn't too difficult. Print out the powerpoints and make them into flashcards if you want to do well on the exams. Visiting with Dr. Koch during office hours helped me understand the material. Always willing to help students.

took her for intro to art history, I love art so it was really enjoyable, took it in the evening though after practice so I was exhausted and the lights off didn't help. But her exams are all take home papers so it's kind of hard to get a bad grade

Boring class coupled together with no lights and powerpoints equals either sleeping or bringing a laptop and being on facebook the whole time. 3 exams with LONG essays that she will tear apart unless you write pretty much EVERYTHING she said from class. Take decent notes, read the book, bring a coffee, and make notecards and you could pull a B

So boring,,dont take it. she just talks in class, no need to read. a lot of memorization. lights are always off, watching a powerpoint. you probably willl fall asleep at least once a semester. she doesn't explain art well. You gotta go to class, just to take notes

The class itself is super dull and boring, and it's easy to zone out because she turns the lights out to use the projector. Get ready to pound a lot of useless information in your head, but it'll be like that in any art history class. Don't skip, notes are essential to study from.

the same as any art history. she's a little dry and put me to sleep sometimes if i didnt have enough caffeine. but if you do the reading you will do well. the lectures repeated the info. i took her for honors art history. i'd take her again mostly just b/c she knew what she was talking about and obviously cared about us and the subject.

I took this class and then dropped it. There are about a million art pieces and you have to know their name, author, date, type of art and general information about the piece. You dont learn anything, you just have to memorize tons and tons of info. Attendance is just for participation but you have to go to take notes, you dont use the book.

I love this class. No homework, you dont really need the book at all. You learn everything in class, no homework, all you have to do is take notes. Shes nice, and the tests are super easy if you study your notes and listen. Sometimes it gets a little boring but I like her a lot.

Great class studying great works of art. Dr. Koch is interesting and knows her stuff--take her, and you'll be glad that you did. Study the slides and take good notes during her lectures; book is only marginally needed, as she tests on what is said during class, and not what the book says. Powerpoints available on BB.
