D Flem is one of those teachers that can be great fun, but only if you're on her wave length - and when she's in a good mood. My entire class almost failed her grammar course. Also made wonderful comments in poetry like "if you can't hear meter, I can't help you," "it's nigh-impossible to read poetry with emotion," and "trauma isn't a real thing"

Dr. Fleming is an excellent professor. I learned a great deal from her class and I've been inspired by her own published works of poetry.

If you want to be told youre wrong for having any opinion that doesnt align with hers, take this class. If you want to read books that were only written between the years of 1850-1860, take her class. Good luck if you have to have her as a professor, D. Flem is not easy by ANY means

THE WORST! Choose a different professor. It was nice only having 4 papers due in her class but there were VERY few grades entered. She doesn't know how to use technology and I think she may actually be a dinosaur. Do not recommend. An A is possible but I know there are other teachers that will easily give you an A. Choose your professor wisely.

Dr. Flemming is an interesting professor. She is very dead-set in her ways. She tries to joke around with her students and tries to be cool, but her sense of humor is really off and I personally didn't find most things funny. There was even a discussion in my class where she thought the only stars were red, white, and blue.

She only listens to her own opinions and anybody that doesn't agree with her is automatically wrong. We go over the same things over again which makes lectures extremely boring and you can't skip too many classes or you don't know enough about the essays that you have to write about (3 or 4 per paper).

She likes to make silly jokes and then she laughs at them herself which makes them funny. Classes involve group discussions. I had four papers to write which each had one month to write them.

Fleming has a tendency to think that her opinion's the only one that could possibly be accurate. She often say insulting things to students. She also finds excuses to argue about religion in class even when that topic is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. If you don't write in the same style as she does, you are likely to run into trouble.

Comment:

Professor Fleming is very opinionated and this is strongly reflected in the way she teaches. While it is understandable for her to be strict about the way literary terms are used, she does not seem to have an open mind when a student presents a new or different way of looking at a poem, but instead asserts her own opinion as the "right" one.

She is very unclear about what she wants you to write about and is a very critical grader. Her lectures are extremely boring and I feel she is living in a different century. If you're takin this class you better be prepared for a history lesson everyday with little discussion of the novel. Overall the class is miserable.

Fleming does see sex in a lot of things, she is a tough grader, she can be insulting, but I think that's just because she doesn't think before she speaks. She is a stickler for rules, LOVES a schedual and hates "floating" But, if you call her on things, she usually willing to admit she was wrong or simply stating her opinion

two words...SEX ADDICT!..everything we talk about, she somehow relates to sex. She laughes at her own jokes, which are not funny...but there are only 4 papers, so it isnt overwhelming.

She is demanding and expects good work from her students. She is willing to help you revise your papers and encourages indepth, critial thinking. She's not as bad as the previous ratings have reflected. I enjoy taking her classes. If you workd hard, you'll get an A.

holy crap...she's not that bad at all. i have a tendency to hate professors for no reason, but hers is one of my favorite classes. she's not insulting whatsoever. both lectures i have been assigned have been interesting. her grading isnt that hard, either. i wrote a terrible paper and got a C, an average one and got a B, and if i write well, i get an A. and im not that great. so maybe she was bad. but it's nothing like what has been said.

She was a very hard prof. She often grades on weather you portrayed the correct opinion (her's). Some of the topics were enjoyable but others were soooo boring or she made them boring by analyzing them too much.
