If you study finance or econ at JCU, taking a class with Dr. Calkins is a MUST! She is easily the greatest professor in the department. She make the material easy to understand. She is inspirational. Most importantly, she makes it fun and a good time. I enjoyed every minute of her class and still use what I learned in it.

Comment:

Dr. Calkins is an amazing professor and a huge inspiration to me. She has a great sense of humor and really cares about her students. Her class is not easy by any means, and requires work outside of the classroom. However, she offers a plenty of help to her students. I really enjoyed her class and I hope to get the opportunity to have her again.

Take this professor if you can! She is literally the best professor ever. She makes boring lectures super fun and she helps you learn a lot. She is constantly extending her office hours so she can help everyone and she is on her email really late the night before tests. If you take good notes then the class will be a breeze.

Dr. Calkins is my favorite professor. She is so helpful in and out of class and is always available for extra help. Lectures are interesting and engaging, even on the most boring of subjects. She's always smiling and constantly asks if we understand what she just taught before she goes on to the next point. I'm so thankful I had her econ!

She is my favorite proffessor. She cares so much about her students and is great at explaining things. She makes class fun even with hard material. Her quizes and tests are hard but she is always avaible for help. Take good notes and pay attention in class and you will be fine.

Dr. Calkins is amazing!! She makes class interesting every time and is always open to answering questions and offering help outside of class. She's funny, caring, and helpful. The class can be very difficult, and it requires a lot of studying, so be prepared.. She makes it a point to get to know her students and that definitely makes a difference.

Dr. Calkins is a very nice lady. Even if you struggle in her class she will help you if you put in the work. I constantly showed up to her office hours and she was always willing to help. Class is not boring and is often times very funny. She cares about her students and wants you to do well.

Easily my favorite professor. Her classes are always interesting and she always comes in with a smile ready to teach. She'll make a lot of little jokes and she loves to laugh a lot. She really does work for the students and wants to make sure they're learning and doing ok, both in school and life. She's easy to get in touch with, as well. TAKE HER.

Dr. Calkins is an extremely nice lady. She does a fantastic job teaching econ and challenges her students to take the next step. She makes you earn your grade, but is always there if you need help. I think she is the perfect combination of being nice, but also pushing you so you learn the subject.

Professor Calkins made Econ a lot easier than I expected. Always offered extra resources to prepare for quizzes and tests, making the class easier than other typical econ courses. Great women overall!

Super easy. Her lectures are just the textbook over again, so reading isn't really necessary if you understand what she says. The class gets pretty boring, though, since the material is not very difficult and she covers it in depth. However, she is very nice and obviously cares about her students. Also likes to laugh at everything.

Calkin's class is not easy. she is extremely helpful in trying to help her students, but you will have to work everyday at improving your grade. There is no homework and your grade consists of 3 tests and 3 quizzes, that are not the easiest on the planet. Her multiple choice can hurt you significantly, and the are half the test!!

No homework, class isnt mandatory. 3 tests and 3 quizzes.she takes the notes and class descussion straight out of the book. possibly the best teacher at JCU. tests are hard, but if you study the material and ask questions you will do fine. she is also very willing to help you if you need it.

By far the best prof I've had at JCU. Take her, even if ECON isnt your thing. There really is no competition in the business school. She's without a doubt the best.
