Great scholar but lousy teacher. If he's not confusing you he's putting you to sleep.

Comment:
The course was interesting, but he was a disappointment as an instructor. Gave confusing and conflicting instructors for papers so you were never sure how to write the paper. Didn't return grades for reading assignments. Really didn't teach the class, just had students present the week's readings. Went on long tangents. Smart guy, bad instructor.

Just avoid. I'll leave it as simple as that. The man is a great intellect, but the concepts he teaches are so abstract and the entire course is disjointed. To make it worse, he's not particularly helpful 1-on-1. Not a people person, immune to charm. Feels like I've learned nothing, which is disappointing for a PoliSci seminar.

I can agree with most comments posted already. He is a difficult instructor although he is brilliant in the subject. Ask questions if you are unsure. Midterm 40% & Final 60%. No papers or any sort of homework. Takes attendance.

This guy is an encyclopedia, anything you could hope to know about World Politics this guy has been there and done that. He's probably like 1000 but non the less the man is a strait up genius. Also the guy is helpful you just have to grow a pair and ask him your question. The class is a 40% midterm and a 60% final but the better you do on the final

Do not know if I learned anything in this class. Lectures are very boring, and he is not very helpful(which is not intentional,he is just aloof).I do not think he stayed on topic once for a lecture, which is not always bad,but his rambles are unintersting and incoherent.I would avoid this class, which is a shame because the topic is very interesting.

Horrible class, even worse professor. Drones on in a monotonous ramble. You never know when it's lecture material or not. Assigns ONE paper the entire semester, at the very end, so you never know how you're doing in the class until it's too late.
