To be completely honest, she is a good, knowledgable professor, but she has no filter and not a lot of tact if any disagreements arise. Stay on her good side. Rude at times, does not take any special circumstances into consideration. Do not miss this class(junior block)... Even if you are on your death bed because she takes it very personally.

Comment:

Dr. Rycik is a wonderful professor and a great person. This was my favorite class. There is a quiz every week. They are easy if you study and take the online quizzes. We play a lot of elementary games and do many activities that are extremely fun. Shared many laughs and good times in Phonics. I learned a lot. Do your work and you will succeed!

Had her for phonics and a reading class. She is very organized and predictable so you always know what is expected of you-very good thing. As a person she's a bit snobby but if you get on her good side she'll be nice to you.

she is an awesome(but difficult) prof and i wish i could take her class again. she is very helpful and will meet with you any time you need her. explains things as many times as you need them explained. phonics is my favorite class now, even though sometimes it is difficult. highly recommended.

She's a great professor. She knows exactly what she is talking about. She is always willing to answer any questions that you have. You get to know her routine and what she expects of you. Plus the book for her class that she wrote is pretty cheap!!!

Very good teacher. Loves teaching and wants to prepare you for the future. Did not care for her in Phonics, but she made up for it in Foundations of Literacy. Respect her, and she'll respect you. I definately would take her again. Work hard and you will get a good grade.
