Amazing. If you attend class or the zoom meeting you don't have to submit discussion board posts (RARE!). Exams are tough, but they are take home and she gives you at least 3+ weeks to complete them. 3/semester. Will accept late if you communicate w/her. Shes the most caring professor I've ever had and so intelligent. You'll learn what you need to!

The class itself is tough but she does everything she can to help. She explains the text in many ways and is passionate about her work. There's a lot of long readings but Becker will usually go over the most important stuff and hints at whats on test. I would honestly take her class again. Truly a gem of a professor.

BEST. TEACHER. EVER. I have taken 2 of her classes and am still using the knowledge I've gained everyday. She is a phenomenal person and GENUINELY cares! Despite her health troubles she gives you 100%. It is worth your time to get taught by this wonderful, inspiring, & intelligent woman. The reading in 303 & 449C is a lot, but is profound stuff.

She is awesome. All the tests are take home, and you have weeks to work on them. Class is taught by the students for the most part in presentation, but you only have to do one presentation in the semester. She is very caring and funny too! She has a health condition, but it doesn't stop her from being there for her students.

She is the most caring professor I have seen. She works so hard to make class enjoyable and is very interested in what you have to say. I love the material and what she has to say about things. I think she is very intelligent and non-judgemental if you don't understand. I would recommend her to anyone. Just get prepared to read everyday!!

Dr. Becker-Leckrone is an amazing woman and an amazing professor. ENG 303 is essentially an English philosophy course, and it is required for English majors. This class could have been horrible. It could have been impossible. But Dr. Becker-Leckrone makes difficult works accessible, and she works her ass off to take care of her students every day.

I took Dr. Becker's class on a whim. I needed an UD elective, and her class fit the bill. I am so glad I did because now, I owe her so much. From actively listening to her lectures, participating, and visiting her office hours, I've learned so much. She's incredibly intelligent, and I aspire to be like her someday.

Dr. Becker is an amazing person and professor! If you show up, (try to participate but she's really funny if you're on the shy side), she's very personable, easy to talk to - extremely intelligent, she's ivy league - totally worth your while if you're pursuing english, writing. She has health issues and still gives more effort than any other prof.

She is absolutely wonderful. Prof Becker makes really difficult subjects interesting. She can be a bit unorganized but never blames the students for her mistakes. Her lectures are more class discussion based. Would take her again and again!

One of the best instructors I've ever had. It truly was a pleasure to take a course with her. This wasn't just an Literary Theory and Criticism class: this was a philosophy, rethink your life class. Very inspirational. Her class is very organized, she gives clear guidelines, and the material is so exciting. You will not regret taking her course(s).

MBL is a great teacher and person. She is very understanding and willing to help you with any and all troubles you have. The subject itself is very difficult; this is the most difficult English class I have ever taken. Definitely recommend. She's definitely someone I will never forget.

Dr. Becker-Leckrone is incredibly passionate about her subject and I am glad I took her this semester. Ever read a Bill Bryson book? That's kind of how she presents information; not only does she clearly explicate the topic at hand, she also offers additional comparisons, background, and interesting asides that greatly improved my experience.

MBL works with the subject matter fantastically. Any grade you receive is totally dependent on your investment and dedication, so do not expect an easy A. That being said, the assignments are not difficult if you understand the texts. I absolutely loved this class despite some constraints in participation and opinion. Discussion class.

I am re-evaluating this professor. I said I didn't prefer her as a professor, but I was wrong. I submitted an exam that she had certain concerns about and received a PERSONAL, signed, full-page letter addressing the specific issue and how it effects my writing. She legitimately cares for and personally invests in her students. STRONGLY recommend.

I didn't prefer her, but I can see why people rave about her. She's really invested in her students and passionate about the subject. She does expect everyone in class to love the subject as much as she does (ENTIRELY unrealistic), but it doesn't affect your grade. There were a few scheduling issues, but she owned up to them and fixed them.

This class was difficult for me,not a fan of "writing about literature." Poems were the worst. It took me basically the whole semester before I realized how great of a person she really is. She's helpful & wants us to do well. I have to take 303,so when I do, it'll be with her. If you have any problems w/ assignments, don't hesitate to go see her!

I may sound like a creep, but I've followed Dr. MBL for the last three semesters, because she is such a fabulous teacher. If you don't receive an "A" in her class, it's COMPLETELY your fault. She gives unlimited re-writes on assignments, and is willing to meet with you any time of the day practically anywhere. Best. Professor. Ever.

MBL does a great job at helping students understand works that are not easy to read (Intro to Literary Theory). She offers unlimited rewrites and is always available for help. There are 3ish exams. I say 3ish because that can change if your class falls behind (which it may). Very funny, dry humor.
