Professor Tiampo is an inspiring woman. The class she taught made me want to look into Asian art beyond the class. I still read the textbook. Despite all of this, however, her teaching style is ridiculously confusing and she puts up two slides at once making it impossible to follow accurately. You really have to pay attention to get a good grade.

Very high school style. Not always clear. Incredibly slow with returning marks. Most things weren't returned until the last few weeks which is frustrating when then final exam, essay, and participation mark equal 55% of the final grade.

Awful, doesn't know how to teach! Her lectures are scattered and her exam reviews consist of 70+ slide IDs (she picks only 7 for the actual exam), 30 terms (she picks 10) and 7 long response (she picks 2). Your talking about a class that covers pre-history to the 21st century. Way too much material

Phony and cheesy. Acts like a sorority girl. Would be better off in a highschool or at a shopping mall.

Was one of the best profs I've ever had. But you have to do the work if you want a good mark - was also one of the most approachable profs I've ever had.

Prof Tiampo is one of those ppl that are extremely intelligent but perhaps not that suited for teaching a complex and compacted course. She indeed knows her stuff yet is rushed because of course overload. All the help I can give those fellow students who venture into her territory is to READ, READ< READ and learn things on your own!

She is a very passionate prof. Although nearing the end of the year her lectures became very scattered and i found it hard to know what image she was actually talking about. I like that she labels her slides tho, this was very helpful...unlike prof Frank.

I absolutely love Prof Tiampo. She makes lectures interesting and fun. She does not read off of slides. She knows what she is talking about and is not afraid to have a good laugh in the middle of class. And her voice is so clear (she sounds like a disney character). Highly recommended

A warm, welcoming professor who truely cares about her students. She's challenging as a teacher and satisfies the student's need to learn about art outside of Europe. Great teacher!!! :)

I've put 3 on Easiness because, although her classes are intensives, she really makes a point in making sure everyone understands and passes. She is highly into her students, and loves to help!! I probably wouldn't be at the stage I am now without her help... Very dynamic, lively, joyful, and funny, and great fashion sense too ;-)

Ming is a great professor, she is very clear when she talks and knows what she is talking about. She makes class fun and interesting. She obviously knows more about Asian art, but that is why Prof Frank is there to give balance.

First year students shouldn't get to complain! They know nothing.Ming is an awesome prof, she's very friendly to her students and she makes her classes fun and different. She's good at starting discussions and good at sitting back to let us do our thing. The Gutai Group was some of the most interesting art I've learned about, she's now my fav prof!

She is a fantastic and engaging prof, who is clearly passionate about cutting-edge issues. It is really refreshing to have her in an art history department, and Carleton is lucky to have her. She is accessible, both in and out of class.

She does say um alot, but i find her very engaging. Her lectures cover all the necessary content with much detail. I haven't talked to her much in person, but from what i can tell she seems very pleasant. This class was great. Plus she has contests for free textbooks if you offer your input throughout the lectures! awesome idea. get you involved
