"Dr G" is an awesome teacher and highly respected in her field. She has even invented a new subject: "Archaeology of the Night" & has a book and Ted Talk on it. She grades very fairly, no final exams, just grades evenly every week of the course. I highly recommend her. She often gives great helpful comments / feedback. BT

Dr. G is the most amazing professor you can get. She is a very easy professor in terms of Assignments. She truly cares about the success of her students; she even sends you reminders before an assignment is due. She definitely knows what she is teaching and makes learning easy, enjoyable and interesting. Highly recommend Dr Gonlin!

One day we came into class and professor Gonlin said "Normally I take an entire quarter to cover what we're going over today, but we're just going to try and tackle it all in one day". The class average on that test was a failing grade, and she sent us an email saying that's the usual average for her classes. This was a common occurrence.

Dr. G is one of the best teachers I've ever had, and her archaeology course was amazing. There isn't a ton of work, but all the homework we do have (textbook readings, discussions) is very interesting and educational. I highly recommend this professor and this class!! She is overall so kind and inspirational.

Projects are easy 30 points just put in the work/effort. Yes, her quizzes are sort of hard for a 100 level but an A is attainable. Quizzes are worth 20 points per quiz. Projects wont save your grade. You will have about 2-3 quizzes every week. 1 project every week. You need the book to pass. I never looked at her slideshows. Extra credit for E-Vals

I would not recommend Nancy. There are about 2-3 quizzes every week. For a 100 level I would have to agree she makes them harder than they have to be. The projects were an easy 30 points but if you do not do well on her quizzes it is not an easy A. I hung onto an A- in her class. There was no final exam but there was also no extra credit offered.

There are six modules with quizzes for every chapter worth 20pts each as well as six assignments worth 30pts each. No extra credit. I took this class over the summer so it was fast paced. You need to buy the textbook to pass. Even if the class is taken online you will not know your quiz scores until the end of the module which can be annoying.

Clearly passionate about her field and wants to share it with you. Well designed online class that forces you to think. Format of the online class is a weekly discussion post plus quizzes. Very self paced but well designed. She is also happy to answer extracurricular questions related to the material.

Had a fun time in her class. It was a pretty easy A. Had discussions that could take up some time but overall not much work. Some of the lessons are super interesting and interactive. You have write a few papers. I suggest her online class because I found it super easy and fun!

If you want to learn about what anthropology is or archaeology she is the best because she is so excited to teach the subjects. Not a lot, or any, homework. There are discussion posts and tests and you just need to study and read the textbook, but if you don't go to class you won't do well. Answers emails and questions promptly and is very helpful.

SUCH a good instructor. Has tons of experience in the field and definitely knows what she's talking about. You have to read the textbook but the chapters aren't too long, and lectures follow the book. She gives 30 min study time before each test & lets you use a notecard front and back. Some hands on experience makes it interesting, 100% recommend

Dr Gonlin's intro to anthropology is excellent! Her own enthusiasm for anthropology is obvious, engaging, and helps make the class very enjoyable. Course work is cohesive with the assigned text and the work load is not excessive.

This class was definitely way too hard to be a 100 level class. I did not understand 90% of the material, and the vocabulary was identical to a doctorate student. I would definitely avoid this class and would suggest taking a different class for a diversity credit.

I took her biological anthropology online class. This class is not an easy A, but if you read the textbook and keep up with discussions and quizzes - you can do it. But you have to put the effort in to work for an A. She is a nice teacher.

I really liked Professor Gonlin as an online teacher. I have never taken an in-person class with her but I could tell that she is a very well-organized and caring person with great communication skills. Her feedback was helpful. I honestly probably could have passed the class without the textbook, but could never recommend not getting a book.

She is such a great professor! She makes sure to keep in contact with you everyday to remind you about upcoming assignments or to answer questions. The material is a little bit hefty but if you read the book and stay focused it should be fine.
