Comment:

This is by far the worst class I have ever taken and she is the worst professor. Does not understand the material herself and therefore cannot explain it. Makes everything more confusing than it actually is. Tests are IMPOSSIBLE. Avoid this class!! She hit us with a huge curve at the end though. Harriott is a great person, awful professor.

Comment:

She is very nice but she has no idea what she's doing. Asks for small details on the exams that were hardly mentioned in class rather than focusing on anything important. Studied for days on end to get a B. This class is a lot easier if you've taken Biochemistry I and II, because that's what she spends most of the semester teaching. Lectures suck.

Microbio: She is a very kind professor and is accessible for help outside of class but lectures are BRUTAL. She's quiet and boring, was extremely hard to not skip her class every time. Takes questions from mastering micro to put on exams but exams are very difficult; expects you to know every detail. Very obviously favors guys

Comment:

Prof. Harriott is a great professor. She is always willing to help and really wants her students to do well. I am not a science oriented person but I loved taking this class. 3 tests, that are hard but if you study you'll be fine. A few writing assignments. Overall, I definitely recommend taking her. She's awesome!

Good and kind professor, but DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT A SCIENCE MAJOR. Her exams are very in depth and expects you to be passionate about biology. Exams are multiple choice with 5-7 short answer questions but the topics need to be known inside and out in order to get a high grade. 2-3 writing homework assignments per semester.

Identity and the Human Genome. Good class, a fair amount of work. Essays help boost your grade, not sure she reads them too carefully. Midterm was impossible, but the final essay redeems you since there's no final exam. Still did well.

I honestly wonder if she has a P.h.D. or just fooled someone into thinking she did. Only prof who can confuse you by trying to answer your question. I wouldn't say avoid her, she can just be annoying at times with her terrible answers.
