Padraig is amazing! Very approachable, kind, and always teaches us interesting facts about Irish culture and history. He's also musically talented and has us listen to / sing along to Irish music, which makes class fun and lighthearted. Irish itself is a very difficult language but Padraig makes it seem much less intimidating. Would 100% take again

Honestly the nicest, sweetest professor I've had so far! Very understanding and wants to get to know his students. The homework assignments are very reasonable, and the class is mostly graded on a few compositions and an oral exam. He doesn't really keep a strict lesson plan. He reminds me of my grandfather.

Irish is by far the easiest language to take at NYU, and it is the best conversation starter. The first semester is really chill, and Padraig is very encouraging: at no time did I feel I was lost or uncomfortable with trying to speak and pronounce. HW is reviewed in class, not handed in, so just be able to translate on the spot if you don't do it

Padraig is the man, his class was awesome and not very demanding. I have to take 4 semesters of Irish and I'm overjoyed its with Padraig every semester. Take irish, if for no other reason then there are two grades A and A-, and this is coming from a slacker who was obnoxious in his class. But seriously padraigs great, I learned quite a bit from him

Padraig was the best teacher I've had yet. He allowed us to practice the language a lot and made the class very easy as he understood that most people took the class purely out of interest. Great class, greater teacher.

Dude, I took Padraig for a summer course and he was awesome. He showed us all over Dublin and really got us to know the culture. His mystery adds to his appeal. He kicks A$$. You will really learn a lot from him in both his culture classes and his language classes.
