I just finished the first term of Sowk1100, and I gotta say he is the most genuine teacher I ever met. He is very caring and accommodating and will go all the way to help you to be successful in his class. Overall, he deserves 10/10 for being awesome.

Very interesting guy, his teaching abilities are good, his stressing the really important things makes it easy to remember. He does remember your name, when you actually show up and participate. No books for any sowk past the 1100s, so 1200s, 1300s no books and I haven't reached 1400 yet but I heard there are no books for that either.

I didn't love lecture class. I already know how to read, so I didn't need the lecture notes read to me. I learned far more from the in-class activities that allowed us to actually apply the information. It felt like I was being prepared for what I would find in the workplace.

Phil Durrant is a lovely professor! He is very accommodating and will work with you to ensure you are able to complete assignments and tests. Although he is often a little vague, I would 100% take another one of his classes! Dude rocks a cardigan!

I didn't really care for Phil in the beginning, but Phil is OK he has an awesome sense of humour. He has endless energy and is always in a pleasant mood. His material is definitely unclear, but he is willing to go over the material if you ask him to.

An alumni from 1986, I thought he was great along with all the faculty in the social service program. They were energetic and committed and it made for a great couple years of college for everyone. By the way-back 'in the day'-lol-there were very stringent entrance requirements. Maybe it's time to retire??

its surprising that all the professors in this program act the same, the course as a whole was a let down. Phil is in mental retirement he acts like its a hobby he doesnt really like.Half the time he is not aware of what his collegues are doing. warning this course has no entrance requirments
