Comment:
Ping isn't a great professor, but for an intro to stats class he got the job done. Really easy to get a B in the class since homework is a ridiculous amount of the grade. Tests are hard, but it doesn't matter since the homework is so easy and a huge portion.

Ping is an excellent professor. He repeats concepts to ensure understanding. The three projects were not that difficult. If you need help or want him to check your work on the projects, go to his office hours. I highly recommend this professor!

No idea how I'm supposed to have time to eat or sleep while dealing with this "2-credit" class.

Overall, Ping is a good professor. His lectures are straight forward, despite the dry subject. He is also very helpful in his office hours. But be careful with his exams, they are tricky. Simple mistakes will cost you. Study hard and you can get a good grade

A lot of work for a two credit class. The group projects are a waste of time and the homework takes a couple hours to do but you get 2 retakes. The exams are somewhat easy if you do all the homework and take good notes.

Tries very hard to make stats understandable and do-able, but be prepared to do a lot more homework and studying than you would expect from a 2 credit class. An A is possible if you put in the work.

Nice teacher, he really knows his stuff and teaches it really well. NEED TO SHOW UP TO CLASS!! The homework and online test are long but a must if your going to pass this class or any of his midterm. Overall if you show up and do the work a B is extremely easy to achive

Pretty good prof. He explains things well. All examples are on the hwk and the tests so take notes. There is a TON of work though. Heavy textbook use. As of Fall 2008, no note cards on tests but on the online stuff you get three tries. Overall not a bad class(based on the topic it could be worse). An A is very possible if you put in the work.

beware: The amount of work assigned in this class this should be a 4 credit class. weekly tests, by weekly homeworks, HW will take around 3hrs to complete. Midterm is harder that HW, and asks question not covered in class. Lecture cover only basic theory, stuff covered in mth245, but dont be fooled this is a very hard course.

Takes attendance with "1-min questions" that you turn in each class. No quizzes, just a midterm and final, which you can bring a 3x5 notecard to. Online homework assignments are similar to the test questions. A passable class if you put in a little effort. Not a great teacher but he is the best option at OSU for BA 276.

Sometimes Ping has trouble understanding why you dont understand something, which makes things a little difficult. However, he will attempt to help you as much as he can and if you go to most of the classes and watch the cd's, you should be alright.

Tough exams and loves pop quizzes. A decent teacher but he loves calling randomly on students to answer tough questions and makes you feel like crap if you miss class. Has been known to give additional quizzes if he sees people leave class early =(

Challenging tests and not always clear instructions. He docks you for lack of class participation and is a jerk if he thinks you skipped his class or aren't trying. Loves pop quizzes so attendance is unfortunately a must :(
