Participate in class discussions and class won't be as boring. There are many readings, all boring. He's not a bad guy he just has a teaching style and sticks with it. Don't use your phone or laptop in class unless given permission, he doesn't allow it. No real midterm or final, no tests just some blog posts. Do ALL of the blogposts.

In the beginning I was unsure about Rex, and many reviews call him boring. I have found that if you try to create banter and ask him about himself he takes a liking to you and becomes very humorous. If everyone in the class is quiet it will be boring, but if not the class is kinda good and me and my classmates like going. No real final or midterm.

I would suggest not to take this course. He makes philosophy the most boring thing ever. All you do Is read the mandatory readings, take quizzes, and do blog posts. All he does in class is go over the reading and if you ask for a further explanation he tells you to read the assignment over again. He is also very rude to students.

This class had me wishing I dropped it the first week. The way he teaches is terribly boring, just sitting there while he goes on and on about readings you have to do for homework every time you have class. You must bring the readings to class, you can't pull them up on your laptop! This man needs to go green smh.

Great guy not so great professor Has you read a crap ton for each class then do online quizzes on the readings just so you can get to class and have him tell you everything you already read and was tested on Dont take this class if you hate being talked at

This professor took such an interesting course and made it dreadful to attend. If you offer an opinion, he tells you it's wrong and is rude about it. Most of the things you learn, you learn by yourself through the reading and quizzes online but still have to attend class because it's mandatory.

This man managed to take a "Creative Process" class, and suck all the creativity out of it. The class is all projects, but his rules restrict the projects so tightly you cant be creative with it at all You don't need to go to the classes, there's nothing important besides the projects, but he figured that out and made attendance mandatory.

He does a creativity class and sucks all the creativity out of it. Has a bland black and white slide show while delivering a dry, monotone lecture. The readings he assigns are honestly more interesting than the class itself. If he says he wants you to run your project by him, he will shoot it down a million times even if it conforms to the rules.

Incredibly smart man who truly has a passion for his work. Grading is fair for the fair amount of work given. Take The Creative Process with him if you have a serious mind for inquiry. He will definitely challenge some ideas you already have.

Really cares about asking deep questions, wants students to engage but only if they stay on topic. Actually understands philosophy, will teach you a lot if you listen/want to learn.

Its straightforward I guess, he sucks though. Hes probs a nice guy but the logic tutorials and reading quizes will kill you. Tests are easy and he gives you the questions in advance, but he IS rigid when it comes to talking and phones. :/

Such a straight forward course. He is a nice guy who is very passionate about Philosophy he loves to have engaging conversations. Tests are essay format and you need to prepare accordingly. I would take this course again. Show up, show interest, study and you will excel.

I honestly loved this class. There is a lot of reading, but it's philosophy, what do you expect? Professor Gilliland is a very clear-cut professor. He gives you the test questions beforehand to help you study - it's very easy to get A's on all of the tests. His lectures are quite interesting and insightful; I highly enjoyed attending this class.

I like him. Read the material and bring it to class and you should be good. I liked the logic tutorials online, they're tough at first but you get the hang of them after a couple attempts. Gives you testexam questions before to study so it's up to you how good of a grade you want.

Where do I begin about him..? He gives long lectures and whenever he asks a question and you answer, it's always wrong. He's the only one that can be right in the class. I honestly hated the class, there was too much work, we do stupid blog post and logical tutorials that had nothing to do with the class. I don't hate him b wouldn't take the class.

This class wasn't bad. There are a decent amount of assignments, but if you do them, you'll be fine. He gives 2 written quizzes, a few essays, a midterm and a final exam. He gives you the questions on the tests ahead of time, making them more manageable. There were a few online quizzes each week as well. Just show up to class and take notes.

Bored me to tears everyday. Doesn't ever tell you you've answered a question right, just makes sure you know you're wrong.
