Actually the most annoying teacher. Not clear on what youre suppose to do on the assignments when you ask her and need help. Grades arent even that clear. It said i had a certain grade on web courses and i ended with a different one which was a letter grade lower. Overall just an annoying lady

There are 3 essays (each are longer than the last) and journals about the novel you are expected to read. Her directions are VERY confusing at times, which definitely makes the essays difficult to maneuver. She makes you think deeply to come up with an essay topic that you keep the whole year. Group discussions are easy as long as you read the book

Professor Nelson is really passionate about what she teaches. There are 3 papers total and as long as you put in the effort and follow the rubric, you will get an A. There are journal entries about readings from the book but as long as you follow her rubric you will get a 5/5. I'd recommend her to non-lazy people!

Definitely the most confusing professor I have ever had. Her conferences were helpful, but out of everyone I knew: I was the only one writing papers this long for comp 1. Avoid if you can.

Great teacher, I feel like I came out a better writer. She is not an "easy" professor so its not super easy to get an A, but with hard work an A or B is definitely achievable. On my first paper I got a C, and my last two I got A's, this shows how you grow as a writer.

I took prof nelson in summer b and at first i thought she was going to be tough. Her paper topics do require a little bit of thinking but she's not a tough grader. Extremely passionate about English and really cares for her students. Show up to class and ask questions if you need help and there's no reason you shouldn't get an A.

She's a great professor. Your grades are based on 3 major essays and 6 journals. No tests and quizzes are given so do the work and you will pass.

Her class consists of 4 total grades. 3 are your large unit papers and the last grade is out of 100% from the 10 journals you will do. On the large papers, she gives you the chance to have a 1 on 1 conversation about your essay, which is very helpful, however she can still be unclear about what she wants.

I had her for Summer B so I only had 10 journals and 3 essays. There is a final exam that you can take for extra credit if you're on the fence. Her conferences for the papers aren't that helpful but are mandatory. Great teacher! You need the Writing about Writing textbook but not the Everyday Writer.

Seems like she cares and is helpful but also seems very busy and somewhat distant. There is basically no clarity at all on the assignments she gives. She is not clear on what she expects in a paper and your grade will be affected by this.

Her class was straight forward and the in class part of it was mostly discussion (if you don't participate it can be dull), but because attendance is part of her grade you need to go to class. The 10 journals were easy and a grade booster. If you follow the rubric for her core papers it should be a guaranteed passing grade! She's very interesting.

Professor Nelson is an amazing professor. She loves interaction and expects the class to participate in conversation. The class is very chill and laid back, just like her. 4 major papers, 10 one page journals, maybe 1 or 2 small quizzes. Very fun and easy class to pass. Make sure you show up! If you skip class, your grade will definitely reflect it

Love professor Nelson! Took her for summer B so it was much faster paced, but she helped a lot. She gave 10 1 page journals and 3 major writing assignments. I would recommend her for ENC 1101!

Overall she was a pretty decent professor. I had her for summer B and the course goes by really quickly. You write 10 one-page journals based off of readings in textbook and three major papers. One gripe with her is that she holds individual conferences with you the day before major papers are do and they aren't very helpful.

I love professor Nelson ! she has such an amazing personality, she keeps class interesting with her sense of humor. Easy one page journals and 4 major papers. She grades fairly and she gives feedback. She even had us read a book for our enjoyment, "Divergent" which was what the journals were on. I got an A

Rhonda is nice but she can get pretty sassy at times. If you have terrible stage fright talk to her because you have to do a 5 minute presentation for paper 3 which was what ruined my grade. Follow the rubric EXACTLY, most of the points I got deducted from my papers were because of technicalities. Not an easy A, but doable with effort.

I took this class during the early morning and I love the environment. It is really chill and layed back. You do three big essays and 12 one page journals for the semester but its pretty easy and she's a really fair grader. You need the WAW book but not the second one.

Her class was not difficult. Show up everyday or you won't get credit for attendance. She gave the people she liked A's and I feel like everyone else got a B like me. Work hard on your essays and get help from the writing center to get good grades. Make sure to pick a topic that you wont seem too argumentative about in your writing.
