Absolutely the most involved teacher in a lab environment I have personally met. The trick was to practice alot, and ask precise questions about the assignment; otherwise he ends up repeating himself and that can be frustrating for the student and professor. He is extremely experienced and very helpful for the student who takes the class seriously.

Projects are 2/3 of grade. You will not be able to complete all projects unless you take an extra shop time class or you have previous welding experience. Don't be surprised when 1/2 the class leaves at mid-term.

During shop time he is normally in the his office on the computer and not available for individual instruction. Most likely you will not be able to complete all your projects which affect your grade. He is near retirement and this may account for what seems like a lack of interest in his students.

Little rough around the edges, but he will warm up as the time goes by. You will need to get used to the weekly quizzes which are a little hard at first. Show up to class, work hard on your projects and you should do fine. Definately learn alot taking this class. Recommended.

Old school salt if you came from this era you know what I am talking about. He tries to prepair the young bucks for the work world.Such as be on time to class what a novel idea. How do you expect to keep yourself employed if you can't even come to a class on time and remember you chose the time.If you want to learn welding right he's the guy.

Good teacher, but very intimidating. Gives good information, though and it helps that he co-wrote the textbook you'll be using in class.

Very interesting class, lots of technical information. In lab it's difficult to get help becuase Bill's in his office most of the time on the phone. Also, he won't let you complete all the projects. He'll make you repeat projects so you'll run out of time
