The best teacher I've ever had here. I got to know him in my freshman year and now he's running an independent study for me to graduate. Really good guy who will talk about his grandchildren in class.

HP ethics is such a relaxing class during your first semester, very little work, easy in class discussions, really cares about making sure you adapt to and survive college.

Comment:

Loved this class, it was the highlight of my day. It was a class were we discussed all of Harry Potter and speak our minds. The class is amazing for any big Harry Potter fan but be prepared to get schooled on trivial knowledge from the series. I will try my best to visit the next years freshman class while they have this class because it was fun.

Comment:

Had him for multiple classes and I am looking forward to taking another class with him. Professor Arras also has clear expectations and you have to work to complete all the work assigned. The only complaint is that he sometimes does not answer emails but if you ask him in class he will help you or make plans to talk to you about your issues.

Arras is actually the grandfather of the world. He is such a kind and caring man and truly cares for his students. He is extremely intelligent and really knows what he's talking about. Took him for Ethics of Harry Potter (1st year sem) but have heard good things from computer science majors. He is hilarious and has great discussions and stories.

He was extremely kind and patient and helped me out a lot because I asked for it. Just a genuinely nice guy, interesting material, very fair, great classes and taking this course made me switch my major to computer science! Also took concern when I decided to leave the university. Couldn't thank him enough.

Arras is my favorite teacher ever. He is more than willing to help you, even if you aren't in his department. He is very kind. He is intelligent and has a diverse background. Every day I have class with him brightens my day. I wish he could teach all of my classes.

A great professor! He is funny and helpful. Very clear on what he wants, will never expect anything of you that is never taught or mentioned by him. He is also very forgiving and kind. He is not a harsh grader, very fair. Material is hard to understand, but I believe that it's not him, it's me personally not understanding whats taught sometimes.

He's awesome...just not as a computer science professor. He's pretty much there as the professional figure, but doesn't actually hold a lecture on how to code. He'll give us a lecture on his life, but not as much on the material so we can actually learn. I'm gonna get out of this class either failing or passing without having understood a thing.

AMAZING!!! Funny and fun. Once he said he would have our papers graded by Monday. Knowing him, sometimes it takes awhile to grade. One student said "If you dont we all get an A." Arras agreed jokingly. On monday he didnt have the paper and he really gave us all an A! Good man, keeps his word. Loved him. Very personable

Dr. Arras was a fantastic professor! I had him for "The Ethics of Harry Potter" and I loved it. Dr. Arras was always enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable, both about Harry Potter and tons of other topics. The class was mostly discussion-based, and I'd recommend it to any Harry Potter fan.
