Comment:
Mentore is definitely one of the better Chemistry teachers at Ramapo. Lectures are on PowerPoint but he still works out problems on the board thoroughly. Class moves at a good enough pace that you won't fall behind on topics (unless you miss classes). I'm pretty bad at Chemistry but he made topics much easier so that deserves a gold star!

Hes an OK professor. Teaches off slideshows.... including the math. Pretty much you'll be self teaching. Hes nice though, but there are better options for sure. If you're interested in going further with chemistry I wouldn't suggest him. Won't give you a good foundation at all.

I currently have Professor Mentore for General Chemistry I Lecture and he is just excellent and very knowledgeable with his lectures. Sometimes, his explanations of certain problems could be a little bleak but overall, very helpful professor.

I took him for both Chem I and II and he was a phenomenal professor. If you are willing to put in the work, you will gain a lot from his class. His exams are straightforward and while the problems may be worth a lot of points, he is very generous with partial credit. Don't think you can wait until the last minute to study, put the effort.

I took him for Chem 1 and he was an absolute pleasure to have as a professor. I know he can be boring at times, however thats chemistry. He is always willing to answer questions inside and outside of class. He loves to help students and honestly hes a overall great guy. I highly recommend taking him! Go to office hours and he will respect you more!

Very nice guy, but he is a very tough grader. some of his questions are worth 30 points and if you miss one tiny thing, he'll take off all points for it. Overall not a horrible class.

I took Professor Mentore for both semesters of chemistry, and absolutely adored him. Chemistry is not an easy class, and he does make you work for the grade, but he is always accessible for help whenever you need him. He assigns homework, worth 10% of the grade, equal to one test grade, and gives you ten tries per question, which can help.

He is a very nice professor. If you have questions during lecture you are more than welcome to ask. Just be ready to do a lot of studying on your own. He gives you the power point so attendance is not mandatory but very helpful for tests.

He is a very nice guy and a pretty good professor. The course was not that tough, the assignments were easy and there was a 10 page research paper due at the end. He is very clear on what he wants, the only thing is that he did not return grades in a timely matter.

Dr. Mentore is a truly exceptional chemistry teacher who really cares about his students. His class (physical chemistry) was very tough, but he was patient and very understanding, and gladly helped students through any tough spots. Definitely take him if you get the opportunity!

The class mainly consisted of discussing the book then going to the computer labs and learning MS Office techniques. However class is demanding with 2 essays, a personal website, 2 power points, a research paper and a website on that paper. As well as a final based on the book. Too much work for a Seminar class. But a wonderful teacher overall.

Mentore is a really great fys teacher. His class is a great way to begin Ramapo as a freshmen. I did not care about the topic at all (something with science, I'm a history major), but we spent most of the time in the computer lab learning MS Office. He's got a great personality and is always there to help, he wants you to do well.

Be prepared for the work in this class. Do not take this class lightly. That being said, professor mentore is an excellent teacher for chem, he makes the material interesting and easier to understand. I cannot reiterate more, dont take this class lightly. Weekly quizzes, 4 tests (3 in class, 1 final) Lab grade 25%.

he is nice but really boring. i would NOT have chosen this FYS if i knew what was involved. i have more work than anyone i know. ive had to read a boring book, make a personal website, 3 essays on summer reading, a TEN PAGE RESEARCH PAPER, a group powerpoint on that research paper, and a website on that research paper. far too much work for a fys.

Great teacher!! Explains all of the material clearly and thoroughly. Lets you print out the notes from powerpoint instead of writing. You do have to study for the tests and pay attention in class but isn't that what you're supposed to be doing anyway?
