Dr. Shannon is very, very, very passionate about his class, which some people take to be snarkiness, but in reality he genuinely care about his students and the issues you discuss.The grading is very complex, but if you do the little homework (reading) he assigns, and demonstrate an actual informed opinion, then there is no way you won't get an A.

If you are someone who really enjoys learning, and can show up to class sober and express interest in the subject, there is no reason you shouldn't get an A...don't take him even if you are fluent in Spanish if you are going to skip class and not participate

Great guy...if you are a good person and you show up to class, try your best, and give him the respect and kindness he gives you...you will get an A. If you like to go to class hungover and sleep you will get a D no matter how good you are at Spanish. He is a great guy that knows there is more to class than tests. Be happy to be in class=A

Really he is an all around great guy...he can be a little hard to ask questions during class beacuse he is so emotional....but he is great outside of class and very understanding....just study for the tests!!! I would not take him if you dont like spanish...also he makes u write 4 page compositions in class....but its NOT hard you have prep time!!!

Dr. Shannon has been my favorite professor here at St. Joes. I took him two semesters in a row, and because of him I am now going for a Spanish minor. He is wonderful, and he truly cares. TAKE HIM!!!!
