I really do like Dr. Vaden-Goad. He is accessible outside of class and always helpful. However, I found it ridiculous that I earned the highest grade in the class and received a B for the term.

difficult to understand if you dont like math and you just want to pass his style is very old fashion yeah he is nice but he kind of teaches himself and doesn't go into details with things. I hated the class because the way he teaches didn't really help me at all. he doesn't give out HW or anything to guide you into what will possible be on test

Each test you have you write an essay for. There are two "Quizzes" and then a test. If you do better on the test than on the quizzes, he curves the grades of the quizzes to boost your grade. If you pay attention and study, the class is not difficult, though many kids in my class received poor grades.

He is a good person and cares about his students. He gives a quiz every other week that requires you to write a one page paper with it. The papers are easy, i'm convinced he doesn't even read them, but they are very tedious. I thought the material was easy to follow, but if you are not good at math then this might be a difficult class for you.

In Math 260 he made the class very boring. Tests were tricky, but there were projects which he gave us class time to work on, and they were grade boosters. Ended the class with an A. In 106, the tests were not as bad but he gives partial credit and a homework question for every test. Did not curve, I had highest grade in class, ended with B+.

Comment:

Dr. Vaden-Goad is a great professor. There are many tests and quizzes but he is very clear in his expectations. He really wants everyone to understand, and he is very open to questions during lecture. However, this is technically an art based math class, and we did practically nothing with art.

He's a nice guy, and he wants his students to do well. However his quizzes are unnecessarily tricky and he gets a little off track during lessons sometimes which can be confusing. Very old fashioned.

Professor Vaden-Goad is fair. He has a really nice grading system, giving you tons of room for improvement, but his tests are difficult. If you show up everyday you should be fine but if you are not strong at math, i would not recommend him. Just show up almost everyday and write his 1 page papers for each test! He isn't a terribly hard grader too!

very unclear need to know what your doing before hand was not helpful and need to pass two "qualifiers" to pass the class. does not follow the book. I would avoid him if you are not good at math.

He is a very nice man. He explains things in several ways for different learners. He tends to go off on tangents but he makes sure that everything he needs to teach gets taught. Good grading system, he gives extra credit too. There are essays, but that is mandatory in all math classes. Teaches in a way that makes sense, not like in the book.

I took him for calc2. He does give you credit on the exams for trying even if you are completely wrong. Only problem is that his exams are pretty tough. He also spends a lot of class time helping people with gaps they have in their math backgrounds.

Very nice teacher but exams and tests are extremely difficult. Currently taking MAT 151 and entire class is failing. 2 students have an 89 and the rest is below that. No As. The grading system looks great until at the end of the semester we cram 2 chapters that will be on final. material taught Tuesday exam Thursday. Essays as well

Worst math professor I have ever had in my entire life! Makes you write essays for calculus (pointless) is completely rude, condescending, and actually laughed at people's questions. Did not prepare me for calculus 2 at all! Went on tangents during class and as a result our class was behind the other calc classes all semester. Avoid.

Sweet guy, tends to go off into lectures which make it a little difficult to focus and understand what he is explaining. Will go over with you multiple times if you ask. grading system is really nice. I'd recommend him for an easy math class such as mine but idk about more complicated ones . Easier when learning one on one with him.

He is a very hard teacher. His gradings system seems great at the beginning and it is, but good luck passing the tests! He will give you 4/5 points but wont tell u what he took a point off for or youll get nearly no credit if u dont prove his way. He goes on tangents every class so you dont learn a lot.

Comment:

Not a bad guy. He cares about you doing well so if your confused use his office hours he is there to help you. Sometimes he can be confusing in class and might not cover everything you need to know. Great grading system allows every student room for improvement.
