I transferred a year ago and still think about how bad he is. He rushes thru lecture to let out class 30-45mins early, EVERY LECTURE. He doesn't prepare hw, he looks in the book after class and yells 5 hw probs that he likes out. He doesn't grade your quizzes. And stop bringing up politics in a math class. He'd probly be great if he cared at all.

Although I have transferred to a UC years ago I had him for Math 1D and Math 2A. Got a C in Math 1D and failed Math 2A. This guy is no joke, hardest professor I have ever had. One technique that got me through 1D was reviewing the material right after class. He is extremely right wing so just laugh along in hopes that he uses his bias in grading

An amazing and hilarious professor!! I got a B at the end because Math is my weak subject but if my basic was a little better, an A is absolutely doable. People who complain about him need to realize that this is college, hes not here to babysit you. He will not hold your hand but hell teach you how to think. Looking forward to taking him again!

He has very funny lectures and he doesn't bother you after 2 weeks you can participate or not it is all your choice but if you don't attend then you have trouble cuz you need to learn his way then you can't take good scores. He is very picky about exams you need to be careful, don't do mistakes haha. But he is excellent for sure. Good Luck!!

Scott Peterson is a cool guy, and when I took 1C with him, I thought he was a relatively good professor. But taking him for 1D was a pretty serious challenge. If you want to get an A, you definitely need to study and practice extra problems on your own (outside of the homework he gives you).

He is very funny and has a really good lecture style. He is also a very tough grader and makes the class harder than it needs to be. In order to succeed or even pass you have to study a lot and really challenge yourself. He loves to brag about his low pass rate. Avoid him if you can!

He talks about politics in class daily which is distracting, he doesn't say it but he definitely implies he voted for Trump. The test are tricky, he sells a good story about caring for his students, then by mid quarter he's laughing at his students about failing is all their fault. Doesn't like asking questions. You will be discouraged TRUST ME!!

Horrible teacher. Extremely boastful of his low pass rate and fails spectacularly at compensating for it with horrible and repetitive jokes. His lecture style teaching is okay, but his tests bring everything in the book up to eleven.

Took him for 2A and 2B. Ended up not passing 2B off an error that got changed to a passing grade. He's highly respectable and his lectures are clear. He gives you all the tools but will not hold your hand. Beware of his final, his political views and his memes.

Insanely hard math professor. Tests are difficult and his grading is harsh for small mistakes. His lecture style is ok but it's get annoying when he accidentally brings in his political views.

The class felt more like a MATH 1B class than 2A to be honest. He throws the nastiest integrations at you during exams and final. He claims that the course is an easy cookbook class but its far from it. He is willing to help you but he can be very brief in his explanations.

I had 2 quarters with this guy and let me tell you, he is the hardest professor I have ever had at De Anza. I'm not saying that his class is impossible to pass but its extremely hard and getting a good grade in his class is possible if you grew up in a privileged home. He needs to teach at a University and not a CC.

Yes, he's a fast lecturer. Yes, he's a hard grader. Yes, he's pretentious. MS in Mathematics from Berkeley and fulltime rocket scientist - I would be too. Tough teacher but he taught me HOW to think instead of WHAT to think ;). Hardest math class ever taken but now I know diff eqtns perfectly. Wish I had him for entire calculus series.

You have to study very hard to get a good grade in his class. He goes over the materials very fast, you have to know it before his lecture.

He is a good teacher. Pop quizzes, 3 tests, and final. Do HW and pay attention to his lectures to prepare for tests. His tests were tough, but I am glad to take his class. Thank Prof. Peterson.

He is not easy A. 3 exams, 1 final, plus 5-6 random pop quizes (equal to 1 exam score). If you can do every single problem at the end of assigned section, you will get A. Listen to him carefully when he assigns HW, because he gives away what might be on the test.
