Steve Perry is the crux of the CA Dep. You will not find a more demanding professor, nor one as fiercely loyal to his students and their learning. Don't take his classes for fun... You don't have to be a theater major either to take his classes, just an earnest student.

He is informative & helpful. Goes into detail about the styles, where it was created & what the traditions are. Easy about attendance, but expects the work to get done.

Very Difficult! I can't count the hours of sleep I lost. Does stiffle creativity. Nice guy out side of class but, has been out of the real world for to long, he needs to reconnect. This class just takes ALOT of work. Best to have a theatre background.

If he was 1/100th as talented and intelligent as he thinks he is - he might be a decent professor.

Talks about nothing for 3 1/2 hours and you wanna kill yourself. He loads on the work like that is the only class you are taking and is far too critical of students work. When he crits work he stiffles creativity. At the end everyones work looks the same.

Comment:
He is very boring, especially since Set Design class is 3 hours and 20 minutes long. He also doesn't give us much time to work on the drawing in class, but he assigns a lot of work.
