This was an amazing class and Dr. Warren is an amazing professor, gives you a million examples and really makes sure to go over material multiple times, her tests are very fair but you do have to put in work.

Didn't seem interested in teaching, kept bringing up her sabbatical. Lectures were repetitive. Practice problems she provided didn't help to prepare for the midtermexam, and you had to wait a long time to see her during office hours. The one beneficial part was the labs which used real geochem scenarios.

Sigh, material is dull, and refuses to help with the material contrary to what other reviews have said. It would be quite helpful if she would post answers to the sample questions, but she doesn't so its frustrating.

An excellent prof! Intimidating at first, but if you ask for help, she will spend as long as it takes (and explain things a million different ways) until you understand. Requires a lot from you - but you will be well rewarded and thoroughly impressed with your acquired knowledge by the end of term. Highly recommend talking to her!

Demands a lot - but it's just so you can understand the material. Very enthusiastic and willing to help. Very friendly if you ask for help. Midterms and exams are tough - but it forces you to not only know the material, but to understand it completely. By the end of the course - you'll be exhausted but fully satisfied with your aquired knowledge.

Prof very smart/knows her stuff but I went into the class excited about the content and found the class to be dry, the expectations vague, and her answers to questions unclear. She kind of always seemed like she didn't really want to be there. The exam was full of unexpected questions. Work really hard/know your chem and you should be ok.

Comment:
Interesting subject, but lectures are poorly organised and not clear. Labs are a lot of work, but without any real payoff. Expections for the course, and exam questions are not clear either. Prof doesn't seem interested in teaching and is often unpleasant. Avoid.

I think she's still testing the waters with this course - finding a good textbook is hard. She demands a lot and has been known to say "I don't know who I have to sleep with to get us a bigger classroom." Challenging - know your chemistry! - but

She is not very clear on course objectives, and the tests are a poor reflection of what has been emphasized in lectures....be careful.

She is a wonderful lecturer who really knows the material. She expects a lot out of you, but that is because she works hard to teach you the fundamentals while also challenging you in the course. Not a light courseload by any means, but you need it.
