The tests for this class are insane. Prof. Dawe expects you to memorize 100 terms easy, by heart. One portion of the tests are fill in the blanks, without a word bank, so I always miss 25% of them, because of how specific they are. It's like she's trying to make us fail. She lacks common sense.

Dont buy the textbook, she covers all in class in lecture. She kinda cringey- talks loud, laughs a lot at her own jokes. Everything on tests is in her powerpoints. U good to go if u study.

Tests are fill in the blank she has no study guide and it a ridiculous amount of material cover and too much to remember. You literally dont know whats going to be on the test. No real reviews. All she does is lecture and laugh at her own jokes

Comment:

Forces people to do projects in an Art 100. One timeshe asked the class why they havent seen this classic film in the 1940s. You have got to see this!!!11!1!1!11 Speaking towards those who definitely do not major in art or anywhere close to it, you are supposed to be an expert in art as soon as you first taken your first step into this class.

Surprisingly difficult tests for an art class. If you're not great at history then this class will probably be difficult for you. She is really nice and understanding though. Just make sure to actually study for your classes and do your work and you'll pass.

Has amazing stories to tell. A truly well rounded person with lots to talk about and her teaching is very straightforward. Her lectures can be long at times but she usually ends class early. I enjoyed her class and would take again.

I took this class over summer right after graduating high school. It was a VERY EASY class, just a little fast paced (since I took it over summer). Test are easy as long as you study vocab, notes and take the practice tests on her website. There were four tests (she dropped one), two (very easy) presentations, and an essay.

Art 100: if you're looking for an easy A, well this teacher isn't for you!! The tests are hard, she thinks her students are experts on art!! I studied my butt off but never got an A. She has online quizzes which somewhat help but don't rely on it for all your studying. Would I take her again? No & I'm sad my hard work did not relsult in an A

let me tell you, i regretted taking this class. Her TEST ARE EXTREMELY HARD. She expects you to know the chapters INSIDE OUT, and every name and term of each painting ECT. I just got a A in chem 201... but maybe getting a C in art100? i did a 5pg research paper n got 80%, somegirl did 2 and a half page n got 95? requirement was 4-5pgs... favoritism

This is one of the classes that i've taken for GE and i feel like it was a waste of time. This teacher is not hard but her test have a bunch of art trivia that is written in her powerpoints. It takes time to memorize either a bunch of technical terms for art or names of painings and sculpture. I did not get any "art orientation" out of this class

Sue Dawe is a amazing artist (I am a big groupie)!! I am amazed she teaches art! She expects a lot in her painting class... there is a lot of work and a supply investment but it is well worth it! If you really want to learn how to paint in oils this is the class for you! The artwork created in this class is very impressive!

Best art teacher out there! Very Positive attitude towards art! No homework and tests are easy. She even drops the lowest test grade! Just study the Tutorial Quiz on the website that she gives you and you'll earn an A for sure!

She is so easy. Use the website from your book and do the turtorial quizzes they help out so much. A lot of the same questions on the test. When she lectures she tells you "you might see this again" so star it and study it. The projects are easy, follow instuctions and use the art terms you learned thats what youre graded on. Take her shes awesome!

Very easy!! Even if you are absent for every test, she will let you take it the next week. She drops your lowest test score. No homework only tests and 3 projects total... Easy A!
