If you are actually interested in the field of sociology skip this professor. I learned no vocabulary or sociology terms. Its rated high in my opinion because its an easy A Its mostly discussion based. She leads most of class talking about her personal life, which is fine as long as you are relating it to sociology but unfortunately she doesnt

This class is absolutely wonderful! You definitely get what you put into the course. Can definitely make an easy A, but I recommend you actually read the textbook because you get to learn so much about sociology if that is something you want. Inspired me to minor in sociology.

She is great with a variety of topics in sociology. Follow her instructions and you will end up to 'A'. It is online with a free textbook. Discussions and 6Exams with easy-going. No stress. Extra credit up to 50pts. I would love to take her class again if she teaches others. Take it and definitely 'A'.

Professor Schrantz is truly a gem. Aside from being an amazing human being, she creates a very open environment that encourages her students to want to learn. All of her exams are open notes and by just coming to class (on time) and participating, you get an easy A. I highly recommend taking her course and would definitely take her again!!

Comment:

Professor Schrantz is the first teacher I've had that sets you up to succeed her class and not fail it. At first you might find her really tense but as the course progresses you will understand why and everything goes much smoother afterwards. Show up to class, participate & study outside class & you'll get an A. Exams are open notes & textbook :)

Don't let her rough exterior fool you, she is an incredibly kind and understanding teacher. She makes the course extremely easy to pass and succeed in. Also, if you are taking her as a face- to -face class make sure to BE THERE ON TIME. A lot of people got left out of class for being late so, be mindful of her time and yours.

She has a lot of rules. You can't miss class because for every time you miss she deducts 10 points from your grade so if you miss 3 times your grade goes from a 100 to a 70. No homework, she provided the text book, no notes in class but she does give you extra credit.

A cool, calm and collected sociology She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and very valuable advice. Don't not to go near with her, wearing scented products. Also, avoid using phones during class. Participation is mandatory There are 5 Unit exams, which you can use your notes on, via the digital textbook. Definitely recommended SOCIOLOGY.

Take her For Sociology!!! Just make sure not to wear any kind of scented product. Also do not be late for her class, just show up and make sure to do the focus sheets for exams!! Also free textbook!!! She is very nice and does care about her students! Her lectures are pretty interesting but u do learn a lot that you will use in the real world.

Best professor I've ever had. I wish this class wasn't moved to online due to COVID-19 but nonetheless, enjoyed the class and will be leaving with greats amount of knowledge. Show up, read the textbook that she gives to you for FREE and reap the benefits of a A+ on your transcript.

Mrs. Schrantz will do a lot of lecturing, don't interrupt, and she will go into great detail and insight about Sociology and the different points of view. She will have a bunch of in-class assignments and groupings that are quite fun and you genuinely get knowledge from. I wish this class hadn't been moved to online but it is what it is still great

She seems mean at first but youll learn to like her. She became one of my favorites. She offers a ton of extra credit, doesnt give homework as long as youre present in class. She offers make up exams and all her exams are taken online whether it be on your phone, computer, etc. She also has a free online textbook.

Students that complain about her methods of teaching, are just looking for a class where you can show up once a week & sit on your phone. Prof Schrantz doesn't want you to sit on your electronics because she wants you to participate. But if you can put your phone away for an hour, her class is EASY & interesting. Open book tests, no homework.

I loved this class! The lectures are amazing. I am a note taker, but we weren't allowed to take notes. It was a new experience for me, but I did well without notes. I would definitely recommend taking this class. It helped me get out of my comfort zone.

Professor Schrantz is an awesome professor. Her classes are non-traditional so we use class time to delve deeper into the topics we're learning. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and it is extremely hard to fail her class. That being said, SHOW UP. Also, don't wear any scented products as she is highly sensitive to the chemicals.

Shes kind of rude but if you listen and do what your supposed to she wont be a bother. I enjoyed her class and I definitely recommend her. Oh and she doesnt like her students to wear cologne or perfume she is SUPER strict about that. So do NOT wear it! She will call you out no doubt.
