Comment:

Everyone on here complains that she is disorganized, but I didn't have this problem with her. She stuck pretty close to her announced schedules and taught everything we needed to know pretty clearly. She has a good personality, and is quite understanding and forgiving. She was easy on the eyes, too ;) I liked her a lot!

If you are willing to learn Calculus by yourself, then go ahead and take a class with her. she once showed her level of care to students by showing up 20 minutes late to an exam day and also forgetting to print several pages of the exam. Also there is no way you could see her after or outside class. DO NOT TAKE WITH HER!!

Comment:

People give Vera a bad rap, she is a nice lady though, and often quite humorous. At least for this lower level math class she is an alright teacher. You won't learn a lot, because she is incredibly disorganized, but she had a lot of illness going on too. If you want a free A though, game on. Pay attention before and after tests.

Very unorganized, always late to class, and missed two whole weeks of class. Never gives back any tests or assignments so I had no idea what my grade was. Nice lady and kinda funny but not a good teacher at all.

Terrible professor. Highly disorganized, never gives anything back, and gets behind on material so gets sarcastic and mean when you ask questions because she goes too fast. I recommend taking someone else for any math class!!

I had no idea what my final grade would be as Vera returned almost no grades. She actually worked on grading during our final week of class when she should have been watching our presentations. Not punctual or organized. Likes student feedback, yet refuses to compromise. She was the worst teacher I've ever had to take.

Wants students to learn, but has a hard time explaining. Took over one month to get tests back, no feedback whatsoever.. I wouldn't reccomend unless you have a lot of background knowledge in calc and can just show up and know whats going on

Worst teacher ever, very disorganized. do not take her. Wont see test unless you beg her everyday at class, still haven't seen my final and she messed up my final grade and still not fixed. i have to continue to email her to remind. nice, but extremely disorganized

Disorganized. Tests are poorly written, don't expect to see tests unless you ask her everyday. Optional homework, webct quizzes, tests are multiple choice. I never had any idea what my grade was - she even missed the final grade deadline, still no idea what I got in the class. Nice lady but too disorganized.

This class was fun and interesting, but it is pretty mandatory to attend class because the quizes are basically what we went over in class, and the tests are reviewed in class and review sheets are given out in class. Take this class with Vera whenever you can because it was great!

She's a really good teacher. I highly recommend her. I don't like math, but she was very helpful and made it easy and interesting. She's a little spacey, though... and a slow grader, but most math profs are. She always tries to convince everyone to become a math major... very likable person!

Vera doesnt have a lot of structure in her class. She is forgetful and doesnt give back tests right away but if you got a smart class who will bargain with her a lot, you could wind up with all of your assignments tossed out in the end. So i think shes pretty good.

Worst teacher I have ever had. She assumes you know everything and skips over steps because she thinks they are common knowledge, never comes through with her promises, never shows up to class on time, takes her over a month to grade tests, and she has questions on tests that are nothing like the examples she gives in class. Bad teacher, bad class.

If you haven't taken PreCal or it has been a while-DO NOT take this class--she assumes that you have and that you are fluent in it. Had I been prepared for it, the class would have been a breeze. A lot of quizzes and such, but they're directly from the hmwk and are generally easy. Good prof if you're prepared. Very willing to help out of class...

Worth taking if you want to stare at a hot professor, but not if you want to take a class seriously. She shows up around 10 minutes every class period, including test days and the final exam. She never pulls through with promises becausee she always forgets and expects her students to remind her of everything, including to attend class (bizarre).

This woman is an absolute nut. Don't take this class if you want a clear understanding of the material. If you don't want your homeworks, projects, or tests back, then I would suggest not taking any class with Vera.
