One paper per week in this class but it was fine! Almost always 1 page (sometimes 2) with 2 paragraphs. The philosophy part of the class was nice at first but I realized that epistemology wasn't really my thing. He's a good prof and I learned good reading/writing skills if nothing else. Had to work hard for my grade but he recognized my effort.

Hes such a nice guy. Some people think he's an impossible grader but I didn't try too hard on anything but the final and got an A on every paper. You have to have the same writing style as him to get good grades, which is easy if you just read his handouts and his readings. He made class so fun and I loved the small class with him. highly recommend

This class took my brain and turned it into oatmeal. It was boring. Nearly impossible. I learned nothing. Professor McKenna is a swell guy, but it was a waste of my time.

Read his handouts, and study them. If you understand the handouts, class time is all practice with various examples, he breaks up the time with eccentric monologues of his past. The writing assignments take time, but are more tedious than tasking. no excuse if you cant get a B, getting an A you have to dedicate yourself. McKenna is a good guy.

He really does dance around topics, and not even to relevant, or interesting topics. During one class we only talked about how he think the grading policy should be. Grades are never posted, it is a very unorganized class. I would say though that he will help improve your ability to write an argument, if you pay attention once in a while.

He went around the topics instead of actually...talking about the topics, and people would bring him their papers to look over, and he would say they were good, and then he would give them a C. I do NOT recommend this class if you are looking to keep your GPA anywhere high. He basically told our class how bad of writers we were the whole semester.

Nice prof, very smart, and clearly knows the subject matter. It's a good class, but it's a hard class. 4 very lengthy out of class papers. 4 in class essays. You either get it or you don't...if you don't, you're out of luck. I took it as prep for law school...we'll see if it is or not.

McKenna is a nice old guy, but a very hard grader. I hated writing the papers and the class was a bit boring but I did learn how to analyze and write a persuasive argument better.

Very interesting class- you sit in a circle of about 12 students and discuss/debate issues. A lot of reading and his grading is pretty hard. A perfect paper is a B and you must do something unique he's never seen before to earn an A- this takes a ton of work, and most of my time was spent on this class to earn one!

He really likes it when you write a lot... the more you write the better your grade will be. But I ended up writing about 80 pages for this class between his papers and essay tests, so if you hate writing this class isn't for you.
