Comment:
The professor would make lots of mistakes and fail to correct or explain himself. He even messed up a problem on our midterm but failed to drop the question or curve the test. Honestly the worst class I've been it. The subject is simple but it's very difficult to pass when there is no help and errors in tests.

Dr. Lin was one of the great topologists and one of UCR's great professors. His loss will be deeply felt. May you be in a better place, Professor.

He makes numerous mistakes on the board and does not complete most of the proofs. He often enters the class with no preparation at all. Shame.

Very interesting class. The professor is funny in his own way. His tests are tricky/interesting depending on how you look at it. Study the sample problems and you'll do fine. There are suppose to be 8 HW assignments but he only gives 4 :)

What the heck is the point of drawing pictures all lecture and not being mathematically rigorous??!! At the graduate level, you MUST see proofs. He expects every student to learn the proofs BUT he NEVER proves any of them. He's a very unfair grader when it comes to exams. I'm shocked he's getting high marks here. Write like a mathematician!!!!

one of the best teachers at UCR. friendly, smiles alot (you'll see.) his exams are extremely similar to his practice so if you do the practice you will ace the exam. got a B+ but only because i didn't do the HW :)
